They make chains with locks that screw to a secure surface. (floor, wall, desk, specially made etc.) You then hook you hard drive to the secure lock and someone can't easily pilfer it. Hope that helps, Tim

How do I save memory on my mini and save files on my iomega

Attach the cable from the external hard drive to an available usb port on your mini. Here is a link to the Guide provided with the unit if you do not have it. There should be a setup section. Use this drive to store all your pictures, music, documents etc.

I have an iomega minimax device that I cannot seem to connect to my imac. when i plug the device in nothing happens on the desktop.

try getting a new power cord from iomega, If that doesn;t work, the drive is probably corrupted. They are under a year warranty. You ship yours to them and they will send you a new one. Try the free chat on Iomega

MINIMAX DESKTOP HARD DRIVE (500GB) DOES NOT MOUNT ON IMAC DESKTOP HAVE NOT DONE ANY BACKUPS FOR MONTHS

Take the computer to a qualified Apple technician -- the hard-drive could have "died". Is the drive still under warranty? If so, you can get a replacement for free, but you will need to contact a "Data Recovery Service" if you want to "recover" any of your files.

if it's 6 months old, you should be still having warranty, suggest you take it back to where you bought it from.

Iomega

Yes. The MiniMax is designed to match the MacMini from Apple and comes formatted out of the box to work with a Mac. (One of the few drives that is!)
I think Iomega supply various Windows drivers on the CD

Iomega 250 GB external stopped working

This is really not a solution, but you should all try to connect your iomega to a imac, and use the Disk Utility (in Utilities folder), if you have any luck the hard drive will be recognized and you will be able to format it
