Hi All,
I just bought an Iomega MiniMax 250 GB Hard Drive and found that it has a lock port at the back. Would anyone know how to lock the hard drive?
Thanks you for your time,
Gosun
Re: How to lock an Iomega MiniMax 250 GB Hard Drive?
They make chains with locks that screw to a secure surface. (floor, wall, desk, specially made etc.) You then hook you hard drive to the secure lock and someone can't easily pilfer it.
Hope that helps,
Tim

Attach the cable from the external hard drive to an available usb port on your mini. Here is a link to the Guide provided with the unit if you do not have it. There should be a setup section. Use this drive to store all your pictures, music, documents etc.
try getting a new power cord from iomega, If that doesn;t work, the drive is probably corrupted. They are under a year warranty. You ship yours to them and they will send you a new one. Try the free chat on Iomega
Take the computer to a qualified Apple technician -- the hard-drive could have "died". Is the drive still under warranty? If so, you can get a replacement for free, but you will need to contact a "Data Recovery Service" if you want to "recover" any of your files.
Yes.
The MiniMax is designed to match the MacMini from Apple and comes formatted out of the box to work with a Mac. (One of the few drives that is!)
I think Iomega supply various Windows drivers on the CD
This is really not a solution, but you should all try to connect your iomega to a imac, and use the Disk Utility (in Utilities folder), if you have any luck the hard drive will be recognized and you will be able to format it
is it usb ad has it got screws in the houseing if so unscrews the the thing and then see if it has got IDE ribbon cable or scsci connection if it has got IDE Connection then check power cable connection to hdd if it's loose then use small open ended screwdrier and close each end slightly and try power to hdd if stillno power then open pc case and connect to pc power cable and see power up via pc if works buy a box that houses Ide harddrives in the country you live in it means that the country you got it from has got a lower vaultage than yours.
