what makes you think there is one, reading the wrong

98 is gen 2 jeep, 99 is gen 3, so which is it? one or the other.

i this switch is not a stock jeep part, nobody can guess unless
the custom alarm is stated and its model number, period.

there is no valet switch, sorry, not by jeep
why not post symtoms, and then work real issues, not phantoms.

some cars the valet is used in the , normal ignition key slot.
the 04 has a valet button under dash.

I own a 1998 dodge durango and Keyless entry does not work all the time and sets my alarm off. There is a valet switch which will perminately disarm the alarm, but I a unsure of it;s location under the dash. Can you help me with this.

The "problem" was caused by the "valet" switch (actually a pretty cool option). I read the owner's manual - there is a valet toggle switch located in the glove compartment. As instructed, I turned the valet switch option from "ON" to "OFF".....everything started working properly (including the remote garage door opener - which I forgot to mention also was not working). Simple, easy fix didn't cost one dime! Pays to read the owner's manual and any signs in the vehicle. The information is posted right on the switch panel!

If you have an aftermarket alarm the valet switch is a small push button, or toggle switch. They are usually located under the drivers side of the dash Good Luck

First you have to know where the valet switch is located. When you locate the switch turn ignition to on position ans flip the switch. the led light for the alarm should stay on STEADY (with out flashing).
