When I connect to my switch it literally takes 2 minutes for each screen to come up when connecting over our LAN. Changing settings is almost impossible.

Disconnect all the LAN cables from the switch.
Power-off the switch.
Power-on the switch.
Connect one computer.
See if that one computer works "quickly".
If so, connect one more computer, and redo your testing.
Repeat.

Can not conect to wifi

the canon MP170 is not a wifi printer, you need to connect it to a computer via usb, if you have have a second computer on your network you may "share" the printer across the network.this will allow you to print wirelessly to the printer via the connected PC.

Airlink 101 AR650W3G keep dropping connection

Hello,
There are many reasons why this might be happening.. You could try the following steps..
1) Disconnect the power from router for a minute and reconnect and check.
2) Try changing the wireless channel and Network name and try re-connecting and try changing the LAN slots on the router if there is issue in LAN.
3) Check if there is an firmware update for your product and update if any update is available.
4) If none of the above steps work you will need to reset and re-config your router. ( For that you need the CD given with the router and you will need the ISP settings.)
Hope this helped

My network is slow while copying/transferring file over the LAN, we have Linksys Switch 224G4P and Linksys Switches 2024 which are stacked. Is this a problem

It is difficult to have havy network traffic and not show anything. The stacking should not be a factor, it is the actual file movement that is causing this, and there may not be a way around it. One possibility is to limit the bandwidth of the file transfer, but that just makes IT take longer....

It is difficult to repair around factual reality.

How to link with 16 port switch with 8 port switch

Good question.
To link the new switch, take a short cable from the LAN port on the new Switch and connect it to one of the existing ports on the old or connected switch. it's just a daisychain.
Just keep in mind that the LAN connection on the Last switch must be connected to a PORT on the prior device on the LAN.

Slow lan (file transfert) with zyxel ES116P and HP ML150 server

Try forcing the ports that the server connects to on the switch to 100Mb Full duplex, sometimes one side negotiates incorrectly, and the switch can set itself to half duplex, even though the other end is set to full duplex.

Dax router

The 2 wire Home Portal 100w is a Modem/Router combination with wireless. But it has only one LAN port. So I understand that you are trying to use a DAX router for extending the number or ports. The reason they may not communicate if 2wire LAN is connected to DAX WAN is both may have same IP address. If the router has similar IP on WAN and LAN, it will not communicate. For that changing DAX router's LAN IP will be a solution or you can do LAN to LAN cascading. Connect 2Wire LAN to DAX LAN and dont use the WAN port. This way you dont have to change anything in the configuration

VLAN - and TRUNK

The trunk port of the switch is meant for cascading the switch i.e. you can connect another switch to that port for adding more computers.

For connecting to a multihomed PC (with 2 lan cards) Please type in static ip address to the lan card that is connecting to the switch and alos add static ip adds to all the other computers taht are to be connected for sharing. Then share the internet connection through the other lan card.
