1. Connect to the console port using terminal emulation parameters (typically 38400, 8, 0, 1, None)
2. Reboot switch (Remove power)
3. Hold down Ctrl U while rebooting
a. Menu will be displayed
4. Select> [D] Delete file
5. Type startup-config (be sure that this is the ONLY file that you delete - if you delete other files, you will have to reload the firmware)
6. Now, you have erased the configuration file and you should be able to reboot and login with the default username and password

Good morning, how do I reset my Linksys SD2005 5-port Gigabit Ethernet Swith to default factory settings.

There is a tiny reset button on the back of the switch.

Power off the switch. keep the tiny black switch pressed and do not release that. Power On the switch and the sys LED will blink slowly and then rapidly. Now release the black button and wait for 5 minutes.

How can i reset the linksys ef3116 to default if it doesn not have a reset button or knowing what the ip address is on the switch?

You can use a port scanner to find its IP address, such as Angry IP Scanner http://www.angryip.org/w/Download and reset it from there. It is most likely 192.168.1.x or 10.0.0.x.

I have a linksys sr2024 connected to an Avaya small office ip telephony switch. Currently their are 10 ip phones connected to the Linksys only. Do I need to care about configuring any type of QOS?

With just 10 phones, I dont usually worry about it. If your vocie quality suffers, you may need to, but i dont usually worry until around 20 phones.

If you do need to set up a Vlan and enable qos, you are going to need to upgrade your switch.

Network Hub or Router - World of Warcraft - NH1005 Linksys

I recommend purchasing a small switch because what it sounds like is that the traffic being generated from and to the two computers and then out to the Internet is killing your hub. A switch would help reduce some of the traffic.
