I chatted with a friend who had the problem and she says that you hold down the menu key for 10 seconds as you are coming up and it will fix the problem. This was with an HP though but it was running XP. BTW, you do know that XP is not going to be supported much longer so it might be a good idea to look at an upgrade. If your PC can handle it, I have had few issues with Windows 7. Not advertising, just commenting.

OSD probably refers to on screen display. and since the error message specifically states Windows XP you can eliminate anything that is not running Windows XP as the OS so likely suspect is #1.

There are four adjustable options on the OSD settings screen: Lock OSD settings, Timeout, H Position, and V Position.
To change OSD settings:
1 Open the OSD setting screen under the Advanced menu. See
“Using the On Screen Display” on page 25.
2 Press the Browse buttons to select the option you want to adjust.
3 Press the Select button to check the option.
To change OSD lock setting:
1 Press the Browse button to select yes (lock) or no (unlock). The
setting is automatically saved when you change the value.
2 Choose Exit sub-menu and press the Select button to return to
the OSD Main Menu or press the Menu button to exit OSD.

any button on the monitor directly opens the Lock OSD
