Hi. I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch Computer and want to buy the Steelseries Spectrum 5xb Headset. 1 problem, there is only 1 audio outlet thing, for headphones, nothing for a mic. I heard about splitters, what should I do? If I need to use splitters, can you recommend a fix?Hi. Thanks, I ended up purchasing a USB splitter. What I did do though was keep the output mic in the regular outlet built in to my computer as on the splitter I was hearing some static. The splitter worked great for the input mic though, and was about $13. Got my headset, and the splitter at MicroCenter if you are wondering about it.Thanks, I ended up purchasing a USB splitter. Hi Matt The socket is both Input and Output. I don't know how it works out what to do but it does. If you are wanting to use a chat service or skype, then use the built-ib mic, it's more than adequate.
Thanks for posting back Matt, so few people do (and don't mention the questions! some of them ask)Thanks for posting back Matt, so few people do (and don't mention the questions! some of them ask)

are you going from the board to a 'mic' input, or a 'line input' on the Mac? you will need to attenuate the signal to a mic input. try reducing output from the board by 50% and reduce the input level on the Mac by 50%, and see if the distortion is lessened or eliminated. From there balance board output to Mac Input until you find what sounds good outta the Mac.
Sounds like you have a computer sound issue. If the waveform is shown, and the amplitude is sufficient then it should playback audio. Not familiar with Mac but check mute settings, sound card volume, input/output config., audio routing, etc.
hi,
You have to check the digital audio assignment of you AVR for HDMI 1 and HDMI 2. There is three options for the digital audio for HDMI 1 and HDMI 2. You can set it as optical ,coaxil, or the HDMIitself. In you receiver the assignment may be in optical input or in coaxialinput for the two HDMI inputs.
1. Go to the system setup
2. Select input setup
3.Select input assignment.
4. Select all the three input ,you are using as HDMI
use the audio output to send the keyboards internal patch sounds, or use a usb midi adapter to use the keyboard to trigger the garageband midi sounds, if the keyboard has a midi output, that is. the usb output requires software drivers to use, and IS NOT mac compatible. You may have to select a midi source in garage band preferences or settings if you are using midi.
Digital transfers are only possible from the host pc/Mac to the player
and not the other way around. but you can transfer the audio signal by
connecting the headphone output to the Mac audio input; look into the
Minidisc player menu and on some models you can set the headphone socket to "line"
which bypasses the volume control circuits for better quality.
NO!!! get a 3.5 male TRS to stereo RCAs to either the Aux input on the amp or the audio portion of the front A/V Aux. the audio jacks will be red and white.
Get a computer with an audio input or soundcard. Like a Mac with garageband and a soundcard. connect both with a male 1/8" to male 1/8" cable. Press play on the tape deck, record on the computer. Once done, edit and trim the beginning and end. Import to itunes. Create a playlist. Burn to cd. Simple.
A computer has line out and that means sound out from the computer to your speakers.
A line out can also be connected to a recording device or a pair of speakers with an amp built in.
Line in on a computer can be used to record audio from other equipment such as a Dj on his decks to record his set.
It can also record audio from mp3 players etc.
Line in can be used for mic's and also you can use mic in as well.
To record any audio onto your computer use line in.
Line out can also used for headphones and the mic will plug into mic in so you can talk online.
