I checked the specs on the video card thinking it must be PCI-e and not old style PCI but in fact there is an old style PCI meant for just what you are trying to do. The problem is the memory at 512meg plus the GPU put your power requirements at 300w and I bet you have at best 185w in those units so they won't even start and you won't be able to cram the bigger power supply in there. Go with a card that has lower specs and 64 - 128 ram and you should be ok. Just check the power req. JC

just remove the ATX cable from the motherboard (24 pins connector coming from the power supply),the power cable to the HDD and the and the dvd drive and then connect the power and chekc whether the light stays on or flicker ,if it flickers then the power supply is Bad if not then there is a probelm with the motherboard

All of this was done. The card that was installed was a direct replacement card for that model. I have been servicing computers since 1985 and this was the first time I have seen this problem of the computer not even reaching POST. The power supply just pulses from the start to an on then immediate off then on ......... until the plug on the power supply is pulled. The on - off switch does nothing.

Sound like a bad power supply now to me. I've seen computers not reach post lots of times. Most times when it does not reach post there is a problem with the Video or a problem with the Memory.
