Belt Keeps Breaking

The belt on my stackable washer/dryer combo keeps wearing down and eventually breaking. I replace the belt about once a month. What could be causing the belt to wear down so quickly?

I had my belt replaced on my samsung dryer two months ago, and it snapped again! my dryer is an import, and it's not cheap to fix :( could it have to do with the pulleys?

Just thought I'd comment that we also have a Samsung dryer.  Replaced the belt 1 month ago - and now it's broken again!!  Maybe a fault with the dryer.

i have an amena, i have replaced the belt three times since the first time it snaped...

its like the pully dosent hold the belt tightly and then spins, burns, and snaps the belt...

i just replaced it friday...and when washing three towels and a small cover its broke again..

is the replacement belt i am getting to big or just a hair to big...i even put a bigger spring on the tension pully to put more tention on the belt to stop make the belt hold tighter and not snap..WTF is wrong!!

Check that the new belt corresponds to your model. If it is ok, maybe there is problem with pulley itself or you need new bearings.
Check and replace if necessary.

Why does myMaytag de212 dryer keeps breaking belt

Hi,

You must have installed the belt upside down. Remember the flat part must be to the drum not the ribs. Also assure you don't have a twist on the belt as it can invert during the running of the drum. Good Luck

Beko drvs73w dryer keeps breaking belts. Drum seems to jam at door end and motor contines to melt the belt. The bearings are good . The dryer is only 18 months old. Every time belt breaks when I investigate...

check your drum rollers/glides and your idler arm(it is suggested to change this with the belt), here is a website hope it helps,Tim:

Altenator belt breaking

Is this a single serpentine belt system or a V belt with 2 or more belts running the accessories? There is an alignment issue, another bad accessorie or bad bearing (quite possibley the new alt) or as mentioned a bad idler ( if a serpentine belt setup)

My dryer keeps breaking belts this is 2 belts in less than 2 months what is causing this to happen

Check the idler pulley, if not turning freely, the belt may have excessive friction against pulley wheel, overheating and failing. Or dryer drum seals may have failed causing excessive tension on belt.
