Check the idler pulley, if not turning freely, the belt may have excessive friction against pulley wheel, overheating and failing. Or dryer drum seals may have failed causing excessive tension on belt.

Why does myMaytag de212 dryer keeps breaking belt

Hi,

You must have installed the belt upside down. Remember the flat part must be to the drum not the ribs. Also assure you don't have a twist on the belt as it can invert during the running of the drum. Good Luck

That belt ought not to break for 10 years. I use zoomspout oil because it is safe for dryers. Lube your rollers and idler and if your idler is a crappy one without the roller you needs to chunk that one.themobilian_1212.jpgthemobilian_1213.jpg
