SOURCE: I have a Samsung SP2514N

If your using an external drive case, the jumper pins should be set at "single". If that doesn't work you can try moving the jumper till the drive shows up, or use no jumper at all. If it still doesn't work after trying all jumper positions or no jumper then the drive could be bad. Make sure to power off the drive before changing the jumper.

My new Western Digital Desktop PATA EIDE 3.5 Inch Internal 250GB Hard Drive only shows 127GB on My Computer. I am running XP SP3 with IDE Connectors. Is the Mother Board too old to handle that many...

The motherboard BIOS most likely have a hard drive size limit. Yes you can create two or mare partitions to use the rest of the hard drive space.
Go to Control Panel - Administrator Tools - Disk Manager to create a partition and format this partition.

Can i make my 80GB hard drive to 100GB? 80GB 7200rpm SATA SAMSUNG

This is not possible, 80Gb is 80Gb and 100gb is 100gb, but I am afraid, even if you like to replace, you'll not be able to get 100gb since it's no a standard Hard disk capacity. If you are trying to upgrade, then you can find 120gb, 160gb, 250gb, 320gb etc... Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Is my hard drive broken? Cant get it recognised on other PCs

I'm having a similar problem with the same Akasa integral enclosure, so far I have tried 3 different hard disks and not one of them will work properly and on two different computers.. , all of the hard disks I've tried are Samsung .. but I'm sure that makes no difference. I plan to send back the enclosure to where I bought it from and get a different one from a different manufacturer.

Samsung 250GB HD250HJ SATA II.

Most likely if it makes sound then it is getting ready to crash, don't take a chance and remove your files and replace.

ASUS VIA KT133

Your motherboard does NOT support SATA drives, without an added SATA controller. It does support PATA drives, such as the Samsung SP2514N and the Seagate PATA drive you listed, as well as any other PATA drive. A PATA drive may be referred to as PATA, IDE, ATA100, ATA133, or even ATA66, but not SCSI, Ultra320, U320, or SATA, SATA II, SATA100, SATA300, etc.

The Seagate drives are easy to identify, their model number ends in AS if it is a SATA drive, and just A if it is a PATA drive.
