Built in wireless not working or showing up

Ok I have a Toshiba satellite a 105- s2194. Windows xp stoped booting up so I had to get a start up disk and set everything back to factory settings. Now its working good im on it now but i cant get my wireless working I flip the switch on the side to on and the light comes on but I dont even have the little option of wireless conections or anything its like i dont even have wireless anymore. I used a linksys start up cd and its like not reading or finding a wireless to use.

Assuming that you have a Linksys wireless router, go to Start>Run then type 'http://192.168.1.1' and Enter. A logon window will appear. Use 'linksys' for the user name and 'admin' for the password. Now you should be looking at the Linksys configuration utility which will show your status. If you are using cable select DHCP for protocol, if DSL use PPPoE. good luck, Steve Medley

Forgot window xp password to login for my Toshiba Satellite a105 s2194 system unit Model PsAA5U-00Z01C

Lost Windows password:

  • Login as Administrator. Try with no password (load safe mode if you don't see Administrator). Press F8 during boot to access Safe Mode. XP only.
  • Login as other user (if other user is available) and manage users. Must be an administrator.
  • Reformat computer.
  • Use 3rd party software to remove password. Like http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html
  • Free software option would be Hirens Boot CD. This one is command prompt only. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/ Must follow instructions exactly.

What can i do to speed up my laptop

You also forgot tell us what the OS do you use.

Reset windows password, Vista and Windows 7 allow you to create a password reset disk.If you installed Windows XP, boot up Windows XP in Safe Mode and log on with the built-in administrator account.

Besides, using Windows Password Reset is a good method.

Toshiba Satelite M100 PC notebook wont start up windows XP

This sounds like a memory problem. Download and run memtest 86, it is a small iso file that you create a bootable cd from. Run this for at least one pass.

If the memory passes boot from your xp disk and choose R to get into the repair console. Once there type the following commands

fixboot
fixmbr

then try the install again. Hope this helps

Toshiba satellite with windows xp will only show black sreen and wont let windows xp repair

Your description of the symptom shows that your operating system installation has been corrupted. Fastest and easiest way to resolve the Issue using the "Recovery and application disk" (it comes with laptop) to perform full system recovery. I would like to remind you full system recovery will erase everything saved on Hard drive. You can check possible option on http://support.toshiba.com

If you dont have recovery and application disk you get one. You can call Toshiba @ 1-800-457-7777

Please post if you need further assitance

Good Luck
