Broken component input on un55b6000 - Samsung Televison & Video

Do you have a mechanically broken jack on the component input, or do you get nothing or a faulty picture when you try to select it? Does the sound connection for this input work?

I have a mechanically broken jack. Now I cannot listen to the home theater system off of the TV. What solutions do I have?

  • Anonymous Feb 17, 2012

Hi Paul, the jack is broken on the back of the tv. There is no sound if I try using my home theater system. The tv works perfect on its own. No screen problems or sound concerns, just that when I want to watch a movie using my led tv and want to use the home theater, it doesn't work anymore. Just the speakers on the tv. I hope I'm making sense

I just got done re-working a Samsung that had the same problem. You can either buy a set of RCA jack audio cables and cut them to a 6" length and remove the jack in the set and solder the cables on to the board, or you can buy a new board at about $150.00. You will have those two cable hanging out the side but its a heck of alot cheaper than buying a board. That is if your handy with a soldering iron and have patience.

SOURCE: samsung un55b6000 hdmi input 1

Hi,

Unplug the unit from the outlet for 30 minutes and then re-plug it and then check if the symptoms still the same. If so, this is an indication of faulty I/O circuitry and video processor in the main board. This board is repairable only at the service center because the parts are surface mounted and quite sensitive. If you are going to DIY, I would advice you to replaced the entire mainboard rather than troubleshoot it because the cost is almost the same. Obtain the board from your local Samsung service center or online. Check the actual part no. of the mainboard on the white sticker on the board itself and then search it online.

Also, check if your unit is still under warranty/extended warranty period, if so avail it because the manufacturer will fix it for free. Opening the back cover will void the warranty.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.

Audio input jack for headphone component broke off need to find new input and how to replace

No way to do that unless you can figure out a way to remove the part. The contacts inside that plug determine where the sound goes. No way to turn it off unless you remove the broken part. If you feel confident enough, remove the back of the TV and remove the broken piece from the jack.

Problem with Samsung UN55B6000 54.6 in. HDTV LCD TV I have already replaced the power supply in the Samsung UN55B6000 and still have a clicking relay and no power when I plug in TV. What else could be...

Hello
Just check its backlight inverter board for any shorted components in it. Then check further. This is a common fault to most of the Samsung LCDs which I've faced. The symptome will be the same as you say. Disconnect the supply line to backlight inverter and see whether there is any click sound heard. If not, make sure that backlight inverter board is faulty, and slhould be replaced with same type and number. If there is stll click sound, main board is fauty. OK.

I dont have game volume even though i have everything plugged in.

First, try plugging your console into another component input on your TV or into another TV and see if you can hear sound. If the sound works then the input that you had your console plugged into is broken.

If that doesn't work, try using different cables, like a new component cable or R/F. If that works, then your cables are broken.

If none of that works, try playing a different game and see if it makes a difference. More than likely though, this will mean that there is a serious problem with your console's hardware, and only a professional can fix it.

Connecting new LED TV and home theater to multiple components

the easiest way to get signal to your HT-Z320 is to run the audio cables from your cable or sat box to the input on your theater system...for the dvd either run HDMI to the LED TV or component (whatever it supports) the Wii system can be plugged into any AV -IN on the LED tv (if you want to use the Wii on the theater system you will need to extend your RED AND WHITE audio signal cables to the input on your theater system.

Hope this helps.

Jacks show in black and white

You need component output on your Wi. You should have 2 AV jacks on your TV. I am guessing you have a red, white ,and yellow for your WI? That is made to hook up in the AV and NOT the component. If you have red, green, and blue? You might just have a bad cable, that is why it is in B&W. Or hook your Wi to your suround sound AV input if it has one. It is hard to give you all the answers with the info you provided.
But this is a educated guess. hope it helps. Todd

P.S. Be carefull with your controlers, SEVERAL accidents of them hitting the TV and breaking the screen. Play nice. :)

I am trying to hook up my wii to my LED TV. It

You don't need component cables. Just use the regular AV connector that comes with the Wii and put the video (yellow) in the video spot that is also labeled "VIDEO" and "Y" on the tv...but the red and white (left and right audio) need to go into the farthest red and white connections...DO NOT put them into the ones labeled "Component Pr and Pb." It works perfectly...I just had to figure this out myself.

I changed the bulb on my rear projection tv and now we have no red. Checked cables and setup.

Which input are you using ?
Is red missing when you bring up the on screen displays or menu?
I would try a different set of cables, especially if you're using the component input. If you are using the component input and a new set of cables doesn't help, then try a second component input to see if it's the input jacks that have broken loose internally.

If you are using Component Input (green/blue/red inputs) with component patch cords, try using other input jacks ( Video In (yellow) or Cable/RF In). If the color is good, then replace your Component patch cord, the green one is broken.

During our move the connection for the cable was broken off and we're no longer able to connect the cable wire. Can a new adapter be installed enabling for attachment of the cable wire.

You can use your VCR to connect the cable into and then choose in the menu which output you want which is component or Svideo. If you don't have a VCR then go to radio shack or electronics store to get a RF converter which is for older TVs(really old) which didn't have a coaxial connector. Get the one that has component and Svideo on it. Then you connect the component to the TV component(or Svideo) input and select that input in the TV menu. Fixed!
