My Sony Camcorder DCR-HC48 viewfinder stopped working, help me out..

Does the viewer screen work when playing back a tape? If yes, then you have may have a sensor problem with the camera. If the playback tape does not appear on the viewer screen, then it sounds like a faulty connection between the camera and the viewer screen. It sounds video processor is not getting voltage from sub power supply section on main board of camcorder that is why you do not get any video output in lcd or viewfinder in any mode.
I'm Sony camcorder tech and can help you if you are handy with electronics stuff repair and can take apart camcorder easily with proper tools.
In my opinion, there would be fuse blow out that provides volts to video signal section. Let me know exact model number of camcorder to proceed and if you feel uncomfortable working on camcorder then local camera repair shop is an option to get it fixed.

Hi, I had the same problem. I had to change the flex wire connecting LCD with camcorder. It's very common cause everytime we open LCD the wire "working and becomefaulty.I change it by myself, got it from the repair shop andit's like new.

see the contacts on the both side are they rusty current is not passing thru the terminal properly try cleaning them with some rust removing liquid on a cloth and then try it

Try removing the battery for a few seconds, and then re-inserting. This seems to reset something on my DCR-TRV20, and it starts closing properly.
