TGE 2GB MP4 Video Player

Firmware updates are fairly iffy for the hb500, and you should have formatted (deleted everything on) the player, not updated the firmware.
If you can, connect the player to a windows PC via usb, then go to my computer and right click on the mp3 player. select "quick format" which will delete everything, and hopefully the fimware update will either work or be deleted. This is a long shot, I really don't expect it to work...

sorry to tell you that the player in sigmatel s3 dose'nt support Mp4 files...........it supports 3gp files with very low quality.......so please don't waste time in finding solution just convert it to 3gp format with low quality copy to videos folder in phone r memory then enjoy the video...........total video converter is the best one.......thank you bye

go to this webpage, http://www.tgegroup.com/en/support/download.htm I'm not sure if it will help you, you should download the correct firmware for your mp4, you can see the correct version of it turning your mp4 on and then you have to go to settings and click to the play button, it will say you the version mine is HB500(V802.551.517), so, I had to download this firmware, but... I have one problem more, my pc doesn't read my mp4, when I connect it and I open My Pc it stop my computer and I can't to see the content of my MP4, I don't know what's the problem I've tried with others computers and it doesn't works, if you can help me please do it, i would be greatful with you all my life.

What it meant to say was "NO FILE that I know how to play". Did you create .SMV files from your original videos? It's the only video format your player understands.

SigmaTel's website (http://www.sigmatel.com/) is currently missing in action (damn all Chinese manufacturers anyway). If it reappears, you should also be able to find the transcoder there.

mp3 player wont recognize videos....jus mp4 will do it if the video is in mp4 format

i have a tge hb500 2 GB mp4 player. yeah, mine has a similar problem;

everytime i put songs on it (242 to be exact) it only shows up that i have 200. it is a 2gb, and i still have ALOT of memory space on it. i tried the reformatting thing too, and that will not work for me either. but when i plug it into my computer, it says that all 242 songs are on it. i really need help before i throw this thing through the window. o_0

and use the correct firmware/driver link. It is going to be in the RAR compression format. If you don't have something that can decompress RAR formats, you can get the free program called autounpack (just google it). After you get the file decompressed and the program installed, you can run the program to update your firmware. There is a box you can check to reformat your player as part of that process. Hope that helps a little. And I hope we can find someone to get us to the next step, or my next step will be to take this piece of junk back to Sears. :)
