There is one more filter under where the collection tank & Hepa filter sits -- there is one screw that holds the cover down - remove that filter and clean it that will help. I also find I need to vacuum the hepa filter as well- it is too expensive to replace all the time. The Hepa filter can be placed inside a plastic bag and shaken really good to get the dust off of it

seems there is a short in the power switch, is that possible, I have it disassembled and seems there is power going into the on/off button, but will only sporadically turn on
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
This could be a defective switch or it could be a loose connection or wire – chances are that it is a defective switch and needs replacement – this could be a slider switch of which does wear out and that is why it will comes on sporadically – if there is a local vacuum cleaner shop in your area they can test the switch and possibly sell you a new one

Vacuum won't stay on
posted by trobinson66 on May 01, 2008
I think the switch is broken--it will come on, but the switch does not stay engaged. I'd like to try to fix myself, if possible. Any thoughts?
Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
Hoover Telios Canister Vacuum Powerteam
When you uninstalled the switch did you mark the wires to duplicate the procedure in re- installing the part, it is possible that you have a bad switch, please check your owner’s manual for the trouble shooting guide to see what you might have done wrong. If the switch is wired correctly it should work, but one wire could be off and not connected correctly then the switch will not work. Feel free to contact your local vac dealer. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
