We are having trouble getting this printer to print out a paper receipt of transmission once a fax has been sent (or fails, or whatever). Is there any way to make this happen? I can't find a thing in the manual.
I called the tech line and the told me how to fix it while I was talking to them. It is in the menu call them and they will talk you through the process. Pat

You can print a log of faxes that have been received and sent by the device. Each entry in the log contains the following information: • Transmission date and time • Type (whether received or sent) • Fax number • Duration • Number of pages • Result (status) of transmission
To print the fax log from the device control panel please follow the directions below 1. Press Setup. 2. Press right arrow to select Print Report, and then press OK. 3. Press right arrow to select Fax Log, and then press OK. 4. Press OK again to print the log
Most faxes and MFP (multi function printers) can be set not to print the confirmation page with every fax. All these settings and many more can be found it the User Reference manual that came with the printer if you can't find yours one is available here: http://www.fixya.com/support/p378618-hp_officejet_6110_all_in_one_inkjet/manual-3613

Checking a report for the transmission result (?TX Report? function) A report containing the transmission results can be printed. The machine can be set to either print or not print the transmission report or to print it according to the machine setting or only when a transmission fails. To print the transmission report 1 Press the [Fax/Scan] key to display the Fax mode screen. 2 Touch [FAX Menu]. 3 Touch [TX Report] on the Set 1 tab. 4 Select how to output the report, and then touch [Enter]. ? Default: The transmission report is printed according to the previously specified method. For details, refer to ?Specifying report output settings (Report Settings)? on page 10-48. ? ON: The transmission report is printed with each transmission. ? If TX Fails: The transmission report is printed only if the fax could not be sent. ? OFF: The transmission report is not printed, regardless of the transmission result.
I had the same problem with my 6210. A different machine, but this may be worth a try. You need to go to the general setup, rather than the fax menu on the keypad. Two pushes of the button takes you to "print reports". Press OK and you go to "Fax Report Setup", OK again gives you "Print Report". You then can toggle with the arrows for the various options. In this case press OK when you are on "sent faxes"
1. Press the [Fax/Scan] key to display the Fax mode screen. 2. Touch [FAX Menu]. 3. Touch [TX Report] on the Set 1 tab.
4. Select how to output the report, and then touch [Enter]. – Default: The transmission report is printed according to the previously specified method. – ON: The transmission report is printed with each transmission. – If TX Fails: The transmission report is printed only if the fax could not be sent. – OFF: The transmission report is not printed, regardless of the transmission result.
You should have a "setup" button. Press that and go to "fax" set up. You can select your options from there. Your options should include the ability to receive a receipt for all transmissions, or none, or just for failed transmissions.
Also, you mentioned you "inherited" the machine. I'd suggest going to hp's website to update the software/drivers. The site is www.hp.com.
I DON'T KNOW IF MY FAXHAS BEEN RECEIVED OR NOT
