Hi Just received new Whirlpool Max 25 microwave. It all checked out fine first of all - I set the clock and the timer ok and tested by heating a mug of water and it worked fine. I unplugged it to move it and since plugging in again I have been unable to re-set anything - I press 'stop' and the oven starts up and only stops if I open the door; I press the clock setting button above the display for 3 seconds and it starts cooking; I cannot re-set the timer at all and nothing happens when I try checking the 'power' setting. The word 'door' shows in the display every time I try to reset the clock and there's no bleep to tell me it's finished cooking. I've tried switching it off at the plug and leaving it for a while but it doesn't make any difference. I just want to re-set the blooming thing so that I can use it. It's getting urgent now and I need to use it. Please help - I've contacted Whirlpool but haven't had a reply and there's nothing in the instruction manual of any help. Looking forward to hearing from you Mim Nash Cornwall, UK

It sounds like there may be a misaligned door switch mount or door hinge.

Since it's less than one year old, it should be fully covered under warranty. I'd suggest contacting the manufacturer again to get it fixed free.

You will have to contact Whirlpool again. You can call the number in the manual or visit the Web site they might give their.

I would ask for their nearest authorized service center.

Sharp Carousel Microwave Model R520-LK timer will run but carousel doesn't turn and food doesn't heat.

I also have the Sharp Carosoul oven, symptoms - fan runs, controls are fine but the turntable stopped turning and it did not heat. It was not the switches, fuse, but in fact a sagging door that misaligned with the door switches. The true cause was a warn top hinge. As a temporary fix, I adjusted the bottom hinge (3 screws underneath), straightened the door, and now it works again.
