Whirlpool MH7140XF Microwave Oven Questions & Answers
We have a whirlpool microwave
2004 model will probably have trouble getting the magnetron for it or the program board to repair it
Generally the cost to diagnose it and the parts problem would make a replacement unit with a warranty a better proposition

Microwave turntable is jerky rather than smoothly
first check the roller under the turntable is correctly seated if so pull the drive coupling out from inside the oven and check for damage. If all of the above are OK you will need a replacenet turntable motor

Trying to replace handle on door, removed three screws on side of door unable to remove inside panel
Most microwave doors are just clipped together with plastic tabs.To remove the inner door panel you need to carefully pry the plastic frame off the inside with something like a small screwdriver or putty knife. Even being careful you may end up breaking the tabs or frame. Once the inner frame is removed you should be able to get to the handle screws. I'll try to attach a picture of the door breakdown.

Microwave won't heat/Makes buzzing noise.
The symptoms you are describing are typical of a magnetron that has gone bad. Continuing to attempt to use the oven in its current condition can cause further damage. So, I would recommend not using it. Microwave ovens are considered dangerous and repairs should not be attempted by anyone that is not electronic saavy. The High Voltage Network inside the oven has voltage potentials of 14,000 volts and higher. If you feel this is something you wish to attempt, the Magnetron part number is 1156751 and costs approx. $158. Keep in mind, if the magnetron has been arcing and making a burning smell you may have burned the protective coating that lines the walls of the waveguide. If the waveguide is damaged it is not repairable. I do not know if this is a replaceable item on your model microwave. Double check your warranty information and/or owner's manual. In many cases the magnetron is warranted for several years beyond the limited warranty that comes with most appliances. Post back with comments and let me know if you want me to assist you further. In addition, if you provide me with your EXACT model number (located along the door opening) I can narrow down parts a little better. I know this all sounds discouraging, but I do hope I have been able to help you.

My MH713OXE light underneath quit working
Check for 110Vac at the center pin of the light socket. If there could be the pin needs to be pulled up a bit so it makes contact with the bulb. If no voltage, most likely relay on board is bad. Be careful around these units they are very dangerous since they have 4000+ volts insde that can easily kill you!

How to stop turntable
Turntable is normally controlled by a microswitch which may be faulty, easy to replace but reall a job for a proper repair person due to high voltage and microwaves.
