Laser printer refills Cause damage over time.

Hello my fellow fixya users.

I got a huge tip for your and the reason why I post this tip is to save you on huge repair cost or ultimately the replacement of you laser printer.

My church recently fell victim of there Dell laser printers giving out. I was asked as a tech why?

I asked them well are you using original toner from the manufacture our are you paying some dude $50 bucks to refill that toner?

Low and behold they where using re manufactured refilled toner cartridge from a company that did not pass inspection.

So I had to replace there DRUM after only 3 months of use of this printer. Dell did not want anything to do with warranty because they decided to save a few extra bucks.

the issue is:

1. Lubercation of the movable parts
2. Corrosive toner (ever heard of that?)
3. The sensor mimics a FULL message to the on-board circuit in the printer thinking its full so it will just print. (This causes paper jams and all other sorts of malfunction.)

Now I respect other reviews on fixya.com and visited the refilled idea myself in the past until i discovered my failures as well.

Do not be fooled by people trying to bait you into ink programs or toner programs your life of your printer depends on it.

I wear badges on fixya for a REASON, It's because our community of aker's feel I have what it takes to support them in those areas. Make no mistake about this folks refilled/remanufactured is for the birds!! Yes you save money and yes it does work fine, but not for long!!!

Do not let me catch you at Best Buy or any store with a brand new printer in your hand just because you wanted cheap printing.

You get what you pay for! Buy cheap ink get cheap results. Buy re manufactured toner and get a re manufactured printer back from your manufacture!!!

Trust me I done plenty of homework on this. My church put me on there technical advisory committee for a reason!!! They feel I know what the heck I am saying and you will too.

Just give it time!!
