The software (LP recorder) does not recognise your soundcard. Download a different free program to record your LPs.

Have a look at the original instructions to see which operating system the software will work with. It should also tell you on the installation disc. If it doesn't mention Windows 8 you might have a problem. You can also visit the Microsoft website to see if your version will work with Windows 8. Or go to the help screen on windows and type "software won't run in windows 8". You can also visit the software makers website to see if they have a solution.

you have to double jump over it.

to eliminate the 20 seconds issue, uncheck the auto stop box...this was causing me problems and has been resolved since the box was unchecked.

(Code 1) Means the device is not configured correctly.  Try to update the drivers for this device, click Update Driver. If that doesn't work see your documentation for more information.
