Maybe camera battery contacts dirty, use light amount of rubbing alcohol on Qtip and let dry before replacing the battery ~T?M~

Hi Please try these suggestions: 1. Check all the buttons to ensure they are free moving. If a small piece of dirt gets stuck behind one of the buttons and keeps the button depressed, the camera will often not work properly. 2. Format the memory card. The memory card could be faulty, so try reformatting it (preferably in a card reader attached to a computer). 3. With use over time it should be easier. It is probably stiff to avoid inadvertently turning off during usr. You could use compressed air on the switch in case any dirt got in there but likely just way it is made.

Have you installed the latest Firmware from GE online? If you have, are you certain you are not shooting in some Automatic mode that allows the camera to choose its own setting? If you are in FULL MANUAL mode, and you have the very latest Firmware installed, if you are in Flash OFF setting when you turn the camera OFF then it will return to Flash OFF when the camera is turned ON again.

Unfortunately the lens is not easy to replace on this camera. It would be classed as a spare part. As GE have closed their camera division, you will struggle to find the part and even if you did, it may cost you more than a new camera.
