GE C1033 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Why does my GE C1033
Bet you're using alkaline batteries? You really should be using rechargeable batteries instead of alkalines, or worse yet, those so-called "super heavy duty" batteries. Modern rechargeables have over 5 times the power of alkaline batteries, and last for hundreds of shots. Today's digital cameras really eat power. Disposable batteries are good only for emergencies, and they usually only last for a few pictures as you've discovered.
X15 carmer lens obstructed is cames what we do
Can you still see the menu's? or does the camera not pop out the lens when you start? When your batteries are old or not charged enough, the camera will not start. Be sure your batteries are charged and ok. If you do have a multimeter, you could check the batteriesOn the multiemeter the voltage should be a little (few tenths of a Volt) higher than what is printed on the battery. When it is just lower you have to charge. When after charging the voltage stays below the printed value, the battery should be replaced. You could try to use two alkaline batteries. New ones that is.If the camera has a mechanical obstruction (feel if the lens is moving a little, without touching the glass) When there is no movement, think of what could cause that. Was the camera not used for a long time? or did anyone drop it before switching it off?In those cases you should visit your dealer or contact GE.
Lost disc to connect my camera to new laptop
You don't need any software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as
Picasa.
Everytime i insert my memory card at my GE C1033, card error always appear, what should i do?
This camera supports both SD & SDHC type memory cards with capacities of up to 16GB. Larger capacities are NOT supported, and should not be used. The first thing to do is determine if there is a problem with the card or the camera. The best way to do this is to replace one with a known good one. In this case, it will be easiest to try inserting a new or different SD or SDHC card that is know to work into the camera, and seeing if it works or not. It wouldn't hurt to see if another device (card reader, other camera, etc.) is capable of reading and / or writing o the card successfully or not. If the trouble follows the card, you know the card has reached the end of its useful life and needs to be replaced. If the problem stays with the camera, then you will need to decide if repair costs are worth the investment or replacing the camera entirely. Amazon offers this
camera brand new for under $50, I suspect shipping & repair of the camera would quickly exceed that amount.I hope this helps & good luck!

How do I re-set a 10.1megopixel c1033
Chances are something is blocking the lens. It could be a lens cap, or your finger, or even a grain of dust or sand. Here's the best first course of action:1. Turn off the camera2. Blow sharply into the areas around the lens/lens cap.3. Turn it on again and see if that resolves the problem. Be sure nothing is physically obstructing the lens. (No lens cap, no finger, etc.)4. If blowing doesn't work, try using a can of compressed air like you would buy at an office supply store, and blow out the area around the lens and lens housing. Chances are, if nothing was obstructing the lens that you could see, it might be a bit of dust or sand. Even a little sand can totally screw up the lens and keep it from moving in or out.5. If this doesn't work, you should take your camera to a camera shop and have it professionally inspected and cleaned. Check out how much this will cost, though, before you do -- it might not make sense to pay what they want to charge, versus just buying a new camera.

Having gone over a month without a response to my query, I assume my suggestion to use a card reader eliminated the need for a USB connection.
