What is the driver, trying to use my GE camera with my laptop, it says after driver is installed I should be able to retrieve photos

Simply put, chances of recovery can be high as long as you act as soon as possible and stop using the Samsung digital camera to take more photos or videos, also keep the camera memory card in good shape (no physical damage).

Your camera should be supported by default without adding any drivers. All you need is a program that will retrieve the photos for you from your camera.

I suggest that you download and install Picasa and use that to manage your photos and retrieve them from your camera:

Well If the photos you want to retrieve are on the 15Mo of internal memory, there is not much to do here except to see a repair center.

If they are not on the internal memory, open the Battery hatch of your camera, push on the small card that is close to the battery, then take the card out.
Now you can plug this card directly in a card reader.
If you have a laptop you might have a compatible card reader on it, otherwise buy one, it is always usefull.
Retrieving the photo this way on any camera saves battery and is usually faster than when using an USB cable.

First of all computer need compatible camera driver/software to communicate with your device (camera), you can download camera driver from its manufacturer's (camera) website. After installing camera software/driver into your PC (Computer). Connect your camera with computer through USB Cable that came up with the camera and transfer photos.

Try to use the usb cord that came with the camera to transfer photos over. Don't forget to install the driver for your camera.

The 2nd link is the manual in .pdf form, and there should be a usb cable that came with your camera and if you lost the cd-rom then you can download drivers for free from the olympus support site (1st link).

try re installing the software again, or maybe its not compatible. try and update via internet

try reinstalling the driver for the card reader or try it on another computer if nonthing happens then format the memory card

Did you install the drivers from the CD which came with your camera???. The drivers must be installed, before you can connect your camera to your laptop. If not follow these steps in sequence

1- Use the CD to install the drivers. If you do not have the CD, please go to fuji web site and download it. Here is the link

2- After installing the drivers, connect your camera to your laptop, turn it on and follow the screen to install the drivers.

3- After it is finished (ready) , click on start, then computer. If the drivers was installed correctely, you would see an icon with all or part of fuji Finepix s9000. Double click on that icon.

4- You would see one or more folders, which contain all of the pictures and/or videos stored in your camera.

Now you could download, copy, delete etc all of your stored pictures.

Are you opening the drive that says digital camera or are you opening the drive that shows a little icon above it - meaning it has content? If you are using the digital camera drive , open it up and see how it is configured. Is your camera chosen? Are the other options correct? Mine does not have the option for any of my cameras, and my photos download to my F drive. If your problem is not solved here, try this:

I would try going to pentax and looking for an updated driver for your camera and op system and doing a clean download(nothing running-not even virus control)and install.

First however, you will need to uninstall and go to tools>internet options>delete cookies

when you have finished a clean download and install, restart your computer and try to download photos. Also try a different USB socket.
