HOW LONGH ON AVERAGE WILL A FREEVIW BOX LAST ?
Depends on Brand, Age , Ambiant Temperature, Manufacturing Construction. Alot of them break due to heat build up inside on the power supply capacitors due to poor ventilation. I Mean a freeview box can last anywhere from 10 minutes to 4 years.

Trying to retune humax pvr8000T.\r\nThe password
I think there is a problem with the auto update it did where the text box is broken. you may need to wait for an update to use the password again.
to force it to retune though you can pull aerial out and all the cables then switching it all on again it, should rescan again.

Pay tv reception
Austar recently made changes that prevent the use of their smart cards in decoders other than Austar boxes.
Assuming you are using a legit Austar smart card, you will need to use it in the Austar decoder it was supplied with, for it to work now.

Humax 5000t does not find HD channels when scanning
If your Humax 5000t is not finding HD channels during scanning, there could be a few potential reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
- Check signal strength: HD channels may require a stronger signal compared to standard-definition channels. Make sure your antenna or cable connection is secure and properly aligned. You can also try repositioning the antenna or cable to improve the signal strength.
- Perform a full rescan: Sometimes, a full rescan can help resolve channel detection issues. Go to the settings or menu of your Humax 5000t and find the option to perform a full rescan or channel search. This process may take some time, so be patient and allow it to complete.
- Update the firmware: Outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues and affect channel scanning. Check if there is a firmware update available for your Humax 5000t. Refer to the manufacturer's website or user manual for instructions on how to update the firmware. Follow the recommended steps carefully to avoid any potential issues.
- Verify broadcast standards: Ensure that your Humax 5000t is compatible with the broadcast standards used in your region. Different countries and regions may use different broadcast standards for HD channels. Check the specifications of your Humax device and confirm that it supports the specific HD broadcast standard used in your area.
- Reset to factory settings: As a last resort, you can try resetting your Humax 5000t to factory settings. Keep in mind that this will erase all your saved settings and recordings, so make sure to back up any important data beforehand. Look for the reset option in the settings menu of your device and follow the on-screen instructions.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's advisable to contact Humax customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting guidance based on your model and help you resolve the problem with HD channel detection.
Humax FVP-5000T Freeview Play Recorder. I cannot connect FVP-5000T to the internet. LAN is working plus all other internet devices.
Question edited for a lot more clarity.
Question moved to Humax category.
" I have tried all suggestions in your manual "
Not OUR manual, we are Fixya dot com, we are nothing to do with Humax, we are not who you think we are.
First, fully disconnect all devices from mains power for 15 minutes, router, television and the Humax Box. Plug in the router first, then the Humax and finally the television. It will take about 15 minutes for them all to come back online after the reset and all recognise each other. This is called a 'Power Cycle' and reloads all the software and connections. Then try again.
If that doesn't fix it, you can fully Factory Reset the Humax unit, or you can just go into Settings and put the router settings back in SSID and Password.

It's possible that there may be a software issue with your TV or Humax box that's causing this problem. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
Update the firmware: Check if there is any firmware update available for your TV or Humax box, and if there is, install it. This can often fix any bugs or issues that may be causing the problem.
Check the file format: Make sure that the recorded programs are in a supported file format. Some TVs and media players may not support certain file formats, which can cause playback issues.
Reset the TV or Humax box: Try resetting the TV or Humax box to its default settings. This can sometimes resolve any software issues that may be causing the problem.
Contact support: If the issue persists, you may need to contact the manufacturer's customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or suggest a repair or replacement if necessary.
