Sounds like air fuel mixture screws are out of adjustment..start with the on marked (L)..this is the low speed(idle) adjustment...turn it in all the way just until it stops..but be gentle..then you wnat to turn it out 1 1/2 turns as a starting point..start the engine and adjust it until you get a smooth idle...next, with the saw running, pull the trigger and you should have a smooth response from slow to fast...you can adjust the (H) screw until you get good high speed operation...if these adjustments don't fix the problem thenm yoou may need to have the carb rebuilt( a carb kit is usually only 15-30 dollars)

Why does my car get to its normal temp and cut off?

Does it immediately restart or is there an extended crank to start it back up? Is the check engine light on? If so, have the codes scanned to see if any problem areas have been found by the computer. A cold engine requires more fuel and as the engine warms up, fuel is trimmed back/reduced by the computer. You may have a vacuum leak causing the stall/dirty throttle plate/ or it could even be an electrical issue to/from a sensor

Husky 51 runs for a few seconds dies than when i open gas cap and put it back on saw runs a few seconds than dies

Check the fuel filter for plugging. Check the fuel lines for decay or other damage. If the cap vent was stalling the machine, removing it should allow about a minute or so of running before it quit again. Hope this helps!

I just purchased a used 51. it looks almost new. thought i got a good deal until i used it for about 10 minutes. it started to run sluggish as if i was running out of gas and than it stalled. i tried to...

With small 2 stroke engines, it's either a spark problem or it's a fuel problem. In your case, it's definitely a fuel problem.

It could be you have a drop or two of water in your fuel or in the carburetor. Put a bit of HEET (methanol) in your premix, it'll take a while to dry it out if this is it.

Check the air cleaner element. If it's dirty, clean it with carb cleaner or gasoline or similar. If it's missing entirely, this is likely the problem, it won't run properly without a filter element, as it requires a slight drop in pressure to create a vacuum to **** fuel out of the carburetor.

Also check the fuel line for a gap or crack. Either will cause it to do what you're describing.

If you still didn't get a hit, take the carburetor off and carefully clean it. It doesn't take much of anything foreign to make it wig out.

Hope this helps.

I have a new hasky 460 rancher stalls when given

If it stumbles at full throttle, the fast (high) idle screw is set too rich. Using your owner's manual, locate the high idle adjustment and back it off in very very small increments. Do this until the saw will run wide open without stumbling.

You don't give us a model or serial number, nor the age of your saw. Has it ever been tuned by a chainsaw mechanic? A tune up replaces the spark plug and a few other items. It includes a visual inspection and perhaps a pressure test or two. The final thing is to adjust the carburetor for better operation. My Husky 359 gets tuned about every 3 years by the local Stihl dealer at a cost of $40. I have a Husky dealer closer to me but I prefer the Stihl mechanics.
Heat is an indication your saw may be lean, in extreme cases it causes metal transfer from the piston to the cylinder wall and can destroy your saw. It should always be operated with a clean air filter.
The one thing you might try is once your saw attempts to stall is to rotate it enough to loosen the fuel cap. If it smooths out your fuel vent is plugged.
You can find an Operator's Manual and IPL here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week
I'm concerned about the heat, If my saw the local Stihl dealer would have it. Explain the problem you are having it may aid in repair or diagnosis.

Husky 55 chainsaw

All chainsaws are air cooled. The problem is the cylinder head often sits underneath the gas tank. People fill their tanks with a mixture of gasoline and oil and often spill it or overfill the tank causing that oily mixture to coat the cylinder often. Then all the saw dust and dirt sticks to the oil and pretty soon the cooling fins on the cylinder head and all the parts surrounding it are coated with an oily dirty grime that keeps air from circulating around the cylinder head letting it cool normally. I'm not that familiar with a Husky but you need to be careful about other parts in the area, but you need to clean off the cylinder head so that it can get some cooling and quit heating up the gas in your tank. Usually there is a vent in the gas cap also and if it's plugged it will cause the gas tank to pressure up and force more gas than is necessary into the carburetor. Either clean the vent or buy a new gas cap.
