Richard before you buy a new one disconnect the old one from the engine and see if it runs better then you wil know for sure that is the problem and please keep me updated I would like to see it fixed there is another thing I thought of I have seen this caused by a defective CDI unit they have a electronic timing curve built in and sometimes it goes bad you could probably find one on Ebay

Hi mate, I've changed CDI bike runs a lot smoother now getting 70mph but still slow moving off so I think the exhaust may be needed

SOURCE: sym shark 50 cc won't start. Battery ok, but

have you checked the vacuum tap to see if its working simply remove the smaller diameter hose from the carb and the fuel line its self **** small one to create vacuum and fuel shold come from fuel line if not the tap could be just blocked or the diaprham could be damaged in the tap

SOURCE: 2000 Yamaha TW 200 lacks power, has a high speed

Your timing may have skipped a tooth. This causes the glowing pipe. Ther are 3 positions that look like tdc. The flywheel has "I" "T" and range marks. This can be confusing. Put the "T" on the mark and you will run perfect. If not you can set it up one tooth or down one from that position. One setting makes the bike run like ****, the other one is barely noticeable more or less power. You may have to play with it a bit to get it right. If your pipe still glows after redoing your timing then your can change up your jet to a higher flow. Usually a performance filter will lean out the mix causing a red pipe. To much fuel just fouls the plug. I deleted my filter box and put a cone K&N filter. I had to jet my carbs to compensate for all the extra air flow. The bike had more power after I did this. The main jet I used was 127 or some where around there, the stock jet is 115 I think.

To much gas would never make you glow. Timing being off or being to lean will.

Sym 125cc crox lost a bit of acceleration power after its first service. Its still new with 480 km on clock. What could be the cause of this??

It could be something as simple as the throttle linkage got adjusted wrong - not causing the carb to fully open

Why isnt the beater bar turning on my shark. The belt is intact

More then likely, the belt is just worn out and slipping on the drive shaft. (I've encountered this problem) replace with a new belt.

I have a proform 625 treadmill that slows or stops after 1 minute. I did what was suggested and cleaned the speed sensor and even adjusted it closer to the pulley. The motor also still hums when it stops....

this hapeen because the system has protection itself, to due the lack of maintenance, by that reason you must LUBE the deck belt, maybe you have a WORN deck belt.
2) LUBE the rollers bearing too
3) Test the drive belt motor for cracking or worn belt.
4) Test the input voltage motor, if there are the motor need replace
5) Test the output voltage board, for input voltage motor, if there are NOT the board is faulty.
God bless you

My sym joyride 200 is somewhat like dragging at take off..

I also own one (4 years old). Assuming it drives strongly enough at speed the problem will be your belt drive/variator transmission. If you are OK mechanic-wise remove the left side panel (you have to remove the small rear panel near the lights first) and then all the txmission case screws to have a look. If the belt is OK (and they last forever) it could be you need new roller weights in the front variator. They wear flat spots afet a couple of years that ruin acceleration. (Special tool needed - I made one though), or new clutch shoes in the rear variator - or maybe they are just sticking and need a good clean. Spin everything by hand to check for noise/slop/ wobbliness and check the oil in the tiny rear gearbox (see owners handbook. You need a measuring cup and a paint syringe to get the exact amount right.
If you aren't confident use a good bike garage. weights are inexpensive and probably clutch shoes too so if you can do any labour yourself it won't break the bank. Google for a free SYM Joyride workshop manual by the way. Happy scootering
