1999 Dodge Grand Caravan Oil light stays on and dings
On my van the oil light stays on and the bell rings for about 3 minutes after the van is started. After about 3-5 minutes the bell quits ringing but the light stays on. Anyone have any Ideas?
The oil is fine. When I checked it it was a quart low so I added a quart. Possibly a sensor could be the problem?? The oil is fine. When I checked it it was a quart low so I added a quart. Possibly a sensor could be the problem??

I'M guessing that is oil change or oil service light you are sking about you have to reset it like this
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, do not start the engine.
Fully depress the accelerator pedal slowly three times within 10 seconds.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator
message illuminates when you start the vehicle, the oil change
indicator system did not reset. If necessary repeat this procedure.
yes this is true it could be a oil pump but first check the oil level first. most oil pumps are inside the oil pan. and most pans can only be taking off by lifting motor up or the exagust off
The oil pressure alarm is very important, the last thing you want to do is dasable it, need to check the oil level, if it is full then it would be wise to take it to the shop, probably a malfunctioning oil pressure sender
You need to verify that the oil pressure is within spec first. If it is then the sending unit is probably oil soaked and faulty. Unplug the sending unit and jumper the terminals together. The bell should go out.
Replace the sending unit.
If your oil gauge if you have one reads good pressure, more then likely you have a bad sensor, if you just have an oil light, take it to a repair shop where they can do an oil pressure test. Have it check, low oil pressure can cause major engine damage.
Sounds like a steering column that is not grounded or if that is ok then you have a recall for the steering clockspring as for the battery light check your charging system
