Popping noises on turning are associated with worn CV joints. As remanufactured shafts are relatively cheap, it is best to replace both sides at the same time.
popping noise or clunk could come from cv joint of front axle shaft and look if back plate of front wheel not touching the rotor for electrical problem to say without seen it but I will check ground or bad connection to headlight switch (burn connection) if there is no bad connection at radio the radio display dim come from the headlight switch and dome lamp rheostat hope it helps
It is hard to tell without hearing your noise but you may have a steering shaft making some noise. They are notorious for it. GM came out with an updated version of it. It makes more of a clunking noise and not a popping noise though. It is not unsafe just annoying if that is your problem. They are about $100 and pretty easy to change and only available from a dealer I believe. You may have a ball joint making some noise. You should be able to take it to a reputable alignment or suspension shop and they should be able to check out your ball joints and suspension parts for you.
I had a problem like this on my G6 Coupe. Turns out that the d'ship removed the front windshield and noticed a strip of metal bet. the parts where the windshield rests on and the firewall that hadn't been spot welded. They body shop welded strip across its whole length and the sound was gone.
could be the timing chain. Was it a pop or more like a ping . A ping could indicate a timing chain problem. The tensioner might have gone bad. its not hard to replace for an experienced mechanic
popping noise during what? Steering, rolling, idling, etc?
