The VR is integral to the powertrain control module (PCM). Are you having trouble with the alternator voltage?

yes, battery light is coming on and losing power...not everyday, but seems to be more frequent. battery and alternator have repeatedly been tested and are fine

Hi, it is unlikely that the PCM has failed, but it is easy to check. Just start the car, turn on the headlights, and check the voltage at the battery. If the voltage is at least 14.0 VDC, the computer is regulating properly. If you don't have a voltmeter, see if your local parts store will help you run this test. Assuming the PCM is good, I think you have a draw somewhere in the car. If you are good with electrical work, see my tip on finding draws here: Go to #4 on that page. If you are not good with electrical work, please find a good auto electrician to resolve this issue.

Voltage is down on our chrysler town and country if the alternator is not the problem is it in the computer.

possibly. the voltage regulator on SOME of these models was built into the pcm, but most were not. if your alternator is producing insufficient power, chances are it is an alternator issue. good luck!
