Mostly the 1996 and 1997 are the same, there are some electrical changes.

    The Honda Passport shares a good bit of components, IIRC the Passport had 4-wheel independent suspension where Rodeo was only Independent on the front. The Passport may have used a different engine/transmission I don't recall that completely.

SOURCE: 1995-96 Isuzu Rodeo transmission swapable?

No they are not compatible. They changed the crank between 95 and 96. I have a 96 that needed an engine swap and the dealer that I bought it from was paying for the engine, he bought a 95 engine and after a month of trying the mechanic said no way no how, the crank between the two is different.

SOURCE: want to interchange rear end on a 1997 5 speed

Hey there Alex,
I am going to say no...
I did check the interchange and Hollander Interchange says no.
Reason being , the carriers are different.
I am assuming you are working on a 2wd , or you would have mentioned the front axle assembly as well.

Here are the options for the '97 ;
96-97 only
disc brakes (6 cyl), (4.30 ratio, 43/10 teeth, S7C), 3 sensor ABS (sensor in pumpkin)
disc brakes (6 cyl), (4.30 ratio, 43/10 teeth, S7C), 4 sensor ABS (sensors in axle tubes)
drum brakes (4 cyl), (4.56 ratio, 41/9 teeth, HC6)

and here are the options for the '98;
1998 and 1999 only
4x2 (drum brakes), 3.73 ratio (41/11 teeth, 6NW)
4x2 (drum brakes), 4.56 ratio (41/9 teeth, HC6)
4x2 (drum brakes), 4.10 ratio (41/10 teeth, GT5)
4x2 (drum brakes), 4.30 ratio (43/10 teeth, S7C)
4x2 (drum brakes), 4.78 ratio (43/9 teeth, S2J)

Will a 1994 Isuzu Rodeo guards and bonnet fit a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo please.

Question edited for clarity, written English, typos and abbreviations
Question moved to model category.

Look like the design change was later, but 1998 might be iffy unless your 1998 was made in 1997.

Isuzu North America also offered a three-door version under the name Isuzu Amigo, sold as the Isuzu MU in Japan. A second generation of the SUV was released in 1998 for the 1998 model year, with the three-door Amigo becoming the "Rodeo Sport" in 2000 for the 2001 model year.

You can also compare parts.

Interchangeable parts on a vehicle

Hi,

Please call your local advanced autoparts to learn about the interchangeable alternators available for your car. They supply these type of parts so they would be good for this. You can call them by dialing 1 (877) 238-2623. Thank you.

What transmission will interchange with a 2000 Isuzu rodeo

Rodeo 4L30e are interchangeable up through 1999. The 2000 Rodeo 4L30e and above will work but the electrical connectors are different and would require rewiring. A 2000-2002 Trooper 4l30e is not compatible with any year Rodeo

Can the parts on a 97 isuzu rodeo interchange with a 99 honda passport

No...the 96-97 don't interchange with the 98-00....and even some of the 98 parts (the tranny for instance) don't fit on the 2000.

Type the part into this website

http://www.car-part.com/index.htm

If it only comes up in the 96-97 and not the 99, it won't fit.
