If for any reason your Rodeo is or seems to be "stuck" in 2WD or 4WD
then below is instructions to reset the system

3. Hold in this position for 30 seconds.

your anti theft device is activated, you need to lock and unlock your doors a couple times with the key fob,not the key,and then you need to put the key in the ignition and start it,if you dont have your key fob, call your car dealer to get a new one, they are programmed for each car only, you cannot bypass it.
3.5l Ra Rodeo running rich

It's a holden rodeo turbo/diesel 2005.check 4wd light on
A mere 2,400km into the life of my 07 Rodeo TD 4WD, I used 4L for about 2km of medium-steep/slippery track. After stopping and selecting 2WD the 'Check 4WD' light appeared, meaning I was stuck in 2WD for the rest of that trip. Luckily I was able to complete the trip in 2WD without incident.
The dealer blamed me for 'not following the instructions in the manual' (utter codswallop), 'fixed' it, and very reluctantly gave me a scribbled set of instructions on resetting the system, which I've included below.
When I suggested that these instructions should be included in the manual, the response was 'not necessary if owners use the system correctly'. More cods.
Here's how to reset it:
1. Ignition off, hold all 3 buttons (2H, 4H & 4L) in together
2. Switch ignition on to 'reds' position (last position before start)
3. Hold in this state for 30 seconds
Hope this may be of use !!
2004 Isuzu Rodeo 3.5L, changing valve cover gasket, and valve adjustment procedure....
so this engine should be an 6VE1, this has got shims on top of the valves. So best to go to dealer for this unfortunately. I would only recommend you do it if you are a competent mechanic.
Valve Clearance Standard Value (cold)
Intake: 0.23 mm0.33 mm (0.0091 in0.0130 in)
Exhaust: 0.25 mm0.35 mm (0.0098 in0.0138 in)
Selection of Adjusting Shim To select the correct size adjusting shim; Add the thickness of the shim removed to the measured valve clearance Subtract the appropriate valve clearance This will give the final figure, which is the thickness of the shim required.
2004 holden rodeo, remote control key wont lock/unlock doors
try putting key in ignition turn to on position
then press lock & unlock several times slowly if door locks cycle up & down after 1st press it lost code and is now resynconised.
now try remote with all doors closed and key out of ignition
if this dont work need to register key(program)back into system which dealer must do with Tech2 if round heart shapped remote
