no engine stated,
my guess v6, as ONLY the V6 had one,
and not all V6 have it.
so, NO V6 size stated or the
8th digit of your VIN code stated, (engine code)
so no answers possible.
there are at least 4 V6 engines generations used.
the last engine is the most comlexe with VVT (3.5L)
it has MAF, and is between the TB and the air cleaner.
on all cars with a MAF, some are in the TB.

TB = Throttle body, that magic place that sucks huge air.

I have a 1997 Rodeo. When my car idled rough or was hard to start, I was getting the P101 alarm that suggeted the MAF needed changed. Luckily my son has a 95' Rodeo so I am able to swap parts to help diagnos issues. It turned out that the idle air control valve that is mounted on the throttle body was the problem.

The sensor should be right there where the intake air duct meets the air filter housing.
That oil down in the spark plug tube is most likely from a leaking valve gover gasket. Oil in there can and will cause misfires.

I dont think so, the 8th digit is the engine code and they are different. I'm glad you put the VIN numbers up, good thinking ; )

On a v6 it must be off of a rodeo v6 only from 11-92 thru 11-95. If you get an aftermarket alt. get a beck arnley brand , others do not work. Try to get your rebuilt at a place that rebuilds alts. and starters locally.

Get a Beck Arnley alternator. The auto-zone, Napa etc. alternators are a problem for Isuzu's. I worked at a dealership and a lot of them came in for this problem. If you still have the original have it rebuilt. Check yellow pages.
