About a gallon of water was mistakenly put in my tank when extremely low. It ran for about a mile and died. I have since put gas treatment and about 3 gallons of 93 octane gas but need to bleed the water out of the line. The fuel filter is nearly impossible to remove, so I was wondering if it can be purged out using the two line under the back seat at the fuel pump/tank?

Thanks Yogesh, I bled the line (one with arrow) and got half water/half gas mixture out (16 oz roughly). It still wouldn't start. I was going to pay a mobile mechanic to come out and replace filter because I didn't have many tools and couldn't get the filter to dissconnect from hose without fear of tearing the hose. Went back to pump. added about two feet of extra line with a male to male connector and bled more. In fact until the mixture was clear (got about a gallon of milky half gas out). Never replaced the filter, plugs or anything else. reconnected everything and primed it and it slowly but surely started to crank. EVentually cranked at which point I reved it up to about 2500 rpm until white smoke stop coming from tailpipe. runs like a champ again. Thanks a million.

Remove fuel line from fuel rail end and put switch to on position let some fuel come out from line, then replace fuel filter, check oil if any water marks in oil if not fix fuel rail line back you are readu to use it normal.

there are two lines. One with an arrow pointing to the engine the other I suppose is the return. I seem to only get anything from the line to te filter (assuming water blocking at filter). Should I keep bleeding the line to the filter?? I got abut 16 oz (1/2 water) and I put it back together and and still wouldn't start. should I keep bleeding the line to the engine or will something eventually come out of the return (wouldn't after priming the pump about 30 times),

  • dear sir replace old filter and then try it.remove the pipe which showing the direction at engine side.

Why is my truck misfiring/running poorly/rough idle

The old gas thing isn't good, but this seems pretty extreme unless the gas was visibly bad. Did you examine or filter it when you siphoned it to be sure it had no visible water or contaminants? Anyway, its certainly worth exploring before going farther. Make sure its got clean fresh fuel. Otherwise, maybe timing belt / chain trouble?

Water in gas tank

instead of expensive treatments, use a low cost method. for every 5 gallons of gas in the tank, add two ounces of regular rubbing alcohol. this is the main ingredient in all treatments. gas and water will not mix, but the alcohol attaches to the water and then the alcohol will attach to the gas, thus removing it from your tank and burning it. works well on all gasoline engines

When my fuel runs low, approximately 1/4 tank, my car acts as if it's out of gas and dies. I originally thought broken gauge; obvious, right? However, when I filled it up; it didn't take a full tank. ...

funny that you mention ' Dark Matter ' -- there is a possibility that you might have water contamination in the tank (?), you can try and get some gas additives that remove water from the fuel. also, there is the possibility that fuel pick up line has been damaged and is not getting fuel from as low in the tank as it use to.

Ran out fo Gas

There is a port in the fuel line that looks like a tire valve stem) it will have a plastic cap on it), have someone depress the shrader valve in the port and see if any fuel comes out while you crank it, also the gas may have gone bad, you also need a full charge on the battery so you can get it turning fast enough to fire the engine, a low battery starves the fuel pump of voltage, it runs slow and causes low fuel pressure issue.
