Replace the upstream sensor only. The downstream is just a monitor for emissions compliance. Buy on ebay for $50 from Bosch.

Also, make sure your transmission is uphifting to overdrive. You should feel 3 shifts.

Testimonial: "Thank you very much I will try it. But could something that simple cause that much fuel consumption?"

Even if you don't have any codes you may have o2 sensors that are going bad and not performing up to par. Your o2 sensors are one of the most important sensors because they control fuel/air mixture for the computer by telling it what is coming out of the engine for exhaust- too rich or too lean- then the computer compensates according to what it is told by the o2 sensors, engine coolant temp sensor also plays an important part for that.

Testimonial: "So before I play around with the fuel injectors, I'll try replacing the sensors. I do know there are a up stream and down stream I think?"

My toyota 7k efi manual transmission.i changed oil filter, air cleaner spark plugs the fuel consumption is very high.than it was at the begining fuel consumption was 15km/pr litre, its now 9km/litre.

check for codes and data readings. check O2 sensor readings, is the thermostat tired and not working properly, this can cause high fuel consumption. take a close look at who and how the car is being driven.

What parts do I change to tune up my 2008 dodge caliber

For a standard tune-up, the parts needed include an air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. You should also have oil, transmission fluid, coolant, windshield washer fluid, and brake fluid available. A tune-up consists of topping off or replacing fluids, changing spark plugs and spark plug wires, changing the fuel, oil, and air filters, and checking the pressures of the tires. More detailed tune-ups run a diagnostic test on the vehicle to check for any codes that indicate additional issues.
