Should be in front of engine lf side, it has a round cap, about 2.5-3 inches around with a hex top, to fit a socket on it, its a cartridge type.
Testimonial: "Thanks for your help. I found it in the front of the engine closer to the driver side. Uses a 32 mm socket. "
Its on the front by the dipstick, it uses a 32mm socket. Do youself a favor and purchase the short stubby socket if your going to change the oil yourself all the time. Youll also need a swivel and extension, real simple with the right tools. Here's a link to purchase stubby socket made for oil filter: http://www.toolsource.com/filter-socket-wrench-32mm-p-101451.html
The oil filter is on the top of the engine, not under the engine; it is right behind the oil dip stick. It uses as 32mm socket which is a pain and expensive because that takes a 1/2" drive. A 3/8" to 1/2" is too tall and will not work.
The location is as mentioned above, on top of the engine behind the dipstick. I pulled the dipstick and carefully used square head channel locks. It did the trick. Don't forget to replace the rubber gasket with one that comes with the new filter.

There is nothing listed on Fram's web catalog but if you go by any GM dealership, you can either buy it or ask the partsman what the part number is and then use the cross reference guide on the website to get a Fram number, or any other manufacturer. All of them have cross guides. It's unlikely that GM has designed a completely new filter for this vehicle, but it is possible. If so, it will take awhile for the aftermarket to catch up.
