Where is the fuse panel that has the fuse for the steering wheel heater? 2004 Cadillac Deville DHS

If all the lights on your dash seem to be off, the problem could be a bad fuse.

Locate the knob por dial that control the brightness of dashboard light.

Make sure the brightness control is turned on. If it is and the lights aren't working, the problemas may be a bad fuse.

Use your car manual and locate the dash fuse the fuse box is between under the steering wheel and the door. Pull out the fuse and use a test light by connecting the groud clamp to the metal and placing the other end where the fuse was. If the light come on, you need to replace the fuse.

check your fuses.

If you can find the left and right swutch assemblies that arent worn out on another deville , dhs or dts, then just swap the assembly out. They arent hard to remove at all and just pop out with a little coaxing . Or look on ebay . neighborhood of around 20something bucks

heating grid has shorted out under the covering loosing its continuity

You have two fuse boxes below and in front of the rear seat cushion. You have to pull the seat cushion up and then pull back the carpeting to get to them. Check the appropriate fuse and replace if necessary. If it's not a blown fuse then you have a short somewhere most likely.

well... it turns out the 04 is different.
check out this link. it may offer some insight. I understand the bulbd may be replaced in the switches, however you have to remove the aigbag to access....

Try this pull the steering wheel as far to the left as possible and while it is in this position try to insert key. Sometimes the steering wheel lock will get in a bind and prevent the key from being inserted. Hope this helps!!!
