SOURCE: steps to replacing right front signal light bulb in 2005 Malibu

Raise hood and remove two hex bolts holding light assembly. You will see three round rubber covers, approximately 4" in diameter. Unscrew the one to the far left, giving access to the signal light bulb. The bulb pulls straight out. Insert new bulb, replace rubber cover, attacht light assembly back to vehicle with hex bolts, close hood, and pat yourself on the back for job well done.

SOURCE: trying to replace light bulbs, front and rear

No usually for GM vehicles there are two pins on the headlight that you pull out and up. they are L shaped upside down. If not there are bolts holding the headlights on. But no special tool needed, it is a simple job, once the headlights are off twist the bulb counter clock wise, if they have a notch depress it and remove the bulb unhook it from the harness and you are done. Installation is reverse of removal.

Why won't the front turn signal work? I just replaced the entire headlamp assembly on 2005 Chevy Malibu.

is turn signal plugged in?
if this is a new bulb try the old one to make sure bulb is not at fault
then need to check the voltage at the connector.
A test light is easiest way from a good ground to each terminal.
if flashing the ground connection could be corroded.
if nothing at connector try the connection at the turn signal switch.

Need to know how to change break light bulb

Open the truck & remove philips head screw that is located to the left of the tail light housing in the trunk lid weatherstripping housing area. Next unscrew the trunk lining screw to fold back the trunk lining to get at the two plastic wing nuts that hold the light housing.

Unscrew these two wing nuts and slide the housing out, then remove the bulbs and replace. Bulbs come out similarly to how you'd replace the front headlight bulbs (unplug, twist counter-clockwise to unlock and remove old bulb, replace with new bulb and turn clockwise to lock, plug back in).

littlejevans: The turn signal flasher works against the resistance through the bulbs both front and rear. The Malibu's had a problem with the rear light sockets which caused problems with the tail lights. Have you checked to see if the rear lights are functioning correctly?
