Your problem is a leak in the cpi pletium most likely the pressure line has a leak
had same problem with mine $45.00 PRESSURE LINE KIT AND $15.00 GASKET FOR PLETIUM and 2 hours labor problem sovled.
You can remove vortec cover and remove air regulator to look inside pletium. I had gas vapor on driver side . that is where fuel lines are. fuel regulator is on passenger side. turn key on and look in hole and see where fuel is spraying. taking pletium off you can again turn key on and make sure where fuel is coming from.

Spray the intake with carb cleaner to find the vacuum leak. Check where the EGR mounts and the throttle body gasket sense you had both off.

I need a fuel system diagram for a 2000 ford windstar se 3.8

If it runs fine down the road, the fuel system is OK. You most likely have a dirty throttle body. Get a can of brake clean and a toothbrush. Remove the air filter plenum. Open the throttle and clean it the best you can. The back of the throttle plate and where it sets in the throttle opening. Then use the brake clean and spray down the MAF sensor in the plenum, both sides. Start the van(it will take a second or two to start). Rev it up and spray some brake clean in the throttle.
Put it back together. The engine light will be on because of the MAF sensor not being on the throttle when it was running. It will go out soon. Or turn it off with a code reader.

2003 Montero Sport 3.0L, 135K miles. Cold start, idle ok. Once warm, low idle and sounds like it has a miss.

Your going to need a wiring diagram. You have a MAF,MAP, IAT and EGR sensor problem. My guess would be a signal wire or ground is bad. These four sensors are right at the throttle body. The mass air flow sensor and the manifold absolute pressure sensor are one in the same. The intake air sensor is next to it. All are located in the air induction plenum. Between the throttle body and the air filter. The Engine gas recirculation valve/sensor is right behind the throttle body. So check the harness from the air filter/ MAF to the engine harness plug. Look for conduit that is rotted away and/or melted.

Erratic Idle - When starts the idle is about 1100 RPM as it warms up, it goes to 700 - 400 RPM

Have you "reset" the computer on the car. When parts are replaced, the comp continues to run the vehicle on all the old settings which can drive you nuts because nothing you do will fix a problem. Usually, taking both battery cables off and waiting for 15 minutes will reset the computer. If this does not do it, then ask a dealer how to reset yours.

My 1998 dodge stratus is running normal when going down the road but soon as i stop it has a rough idle and is under the one on the rpm and recently we changed the pvc valve and it wont run with it hooked...

Hello,
First you need to hook up that PVC valve hose because you are sucking countless containments into the engine. Sounds to me like your MAF sensor might be malfunctioning. I would clean it and perhaps replace it. When is the last time you changed your air filter? If it is to clogged this can starve your vehicle for air. You spark plugs could also very well be fouled. Your car is more than likely misfiring all the time but it is much more noticeable at a stoplight. I would recommend you first clean the MAF sensor. Check the air filter. Clean the throttle body and if non of that help do a tune up. Regards, Tony

Having the same problem on a 2005 4.3l....... replaced plugs, dist. cap, coils, and cam sensor. o2 sensor is good. idles great till you push the gas, then it misfires. timing was checked it was fine. ...

Something is probably leaning out the mixture when you open the throttle. It seems that any ignition issues have been ruled out.

So, check the following: fuel filter clogged, low fuel pump pressure, the fuel pressure regulator could be stuck at the idle setting, the EGR valve could be stuck open, faulty throttle position sensor (TPS) or circuit, faulty manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, faulty or dirty manifold air flow (MAF) sensor, faulty intake air temperature (IAT) sensor, and an air leak into the intake duct or manifold between the MAF and the throttle body. I think if the intake manifold gasket had a leak, it would be misfiring at idle.

Ask the shop if any of the above checks have already been accomplished. I'll bet most of them have, but one may have been overlooked.

What does a major tune up for a 2004 chevy impala consist of? What should be done and needs to be done?

New spark plugs, oil and oil filter, transmission flush and fill, fuel filter, air filter, coolant flush and fill, clean throttle body plate and bore, clean the MAF sensor, replace any loose or cracked vacuum lines, PCV valve, new air filter, new battery.

99% of the time all you should ever need for a tune up is new spark plugs, and a clean air filter and throttle body. But since your inquiry indicated "major" I gave it more critical thought.

Engines jumpy... time for new spark plugs?

Probably not. Depending on your mileage and driving style it is more likely an Idle Air Control valve, Mass Airflow Sensor or Throttle body. I would purchase CRC MAF Cleaner and CRC Throttle Body cleaner. you will need to disconnect the induction hose from the air filter and throttle body. On the Taurus the air filter is loated on driver side under hood. Trace back from it and mid way youwill find a plastic cylinder that is wired in with a plug. Unplug the MAF. Make sure and notate which side is facing the engine as the air flow has to be the right way. I put a dot on the side that should face inward to remember the flow direction. Find a ventilated area and take the CRC MAF cleaner and spray the inside of the Mass airflow from about an inch away. Be careful there are very fine wires inside that can be broken by the nozzle by touching or being too close when spraying. Spray liberally and then set aside to dry. Continuing up the intake you will find the throttle body whihc is a cirucular intake that is metalic It has a butterfly valve inside. Use the same CRC brand but this time us CRC Throttle body cleaner. DONT USE CARB CLEANER OR OTHER BRAND. Ford coats their Throttle bodies with teflon and any other brand can eat this lining away. Clean in short bursts. You can gently take a clean shop rag to wipe inside with your finger as sprayed to dislodge some of the dirt, but be gentle. Dont use stiff brushes.. A qtip, a soft bristle tooth brush with very light pressure. as well. Clean it very well. Place rag underneath to catch any run off. After its cleaned and teh MAF is cleaned, replace the air filter and reassemble the unit. The car will be hard to start at first. Turn it over a few times and it will start. It will sputter a bit and then should run better. The plugs on modern vehicles are set to run 100K miles or more before changing and unless you are burning oil and fouling them out they should be fine. Start with MAF and Throttle body first. then move to plugs..Finally, the MAF and Throttle body should be cleaned every other oil change.

Honda accord 2000 ex i change spark plug cables cap rotor continue with emision problem when start running

Replace the PVC valve and clean the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor, you can buy the MAF cleaner at any parts store and follow the instructions on the can. You may also want to buy a can of throttle body cleaner too to clean out the throttle body from carbon deposit, just follow the instructions on the can one again. Good luck and this should help you get your car running 100% again.

When i press accelerator engine is cutting ....

The van may just need a good tune up.

  • Replace the fuel filter
  • Replace the air filter
  • Replace the PVC valve
  • Replace Engine oil and filter
  • Replace the Spark plugs
  • Clean out the Throttle body with throttle body cleaner
  • Clean out the MAF sensor
This should help you get your van running 100% soon. If your on a tight budget, start with Cleaning the throttle body with spraying throttle body cleaner into the throttle body and cleaning up the MAF sensor with MAF sensor cleaner, just follow the instruction on the can. Then replace the PVC valve and add fuel injector cleaner in to the gas tank. This should help your engine running better and then you can do the rest of the work to complete the tune up. Good luck and keep me posted. If you go to Auto Zone, you can get all the things you need and they can scan your van for any DTC codes that may also indicate what issues your engine has.
