A no-start condition can occur with several different symptoms. Have a clear understanding of which one applies to your vehicle when having the problem diagnosed. Here are the most common symptoms:
SOURCE: 2001 Toyota Celica GTS Clutch
i paid a friend to do it because it's a lot of work! if you haven't already treid to or got it done just know that when my friend did it; it took him like 8 hours (he'd never done one on a celica, but had done them on american cars) so if your not familiar with it... not a good idea to do alone. I watched him do most, but i'm not the best to talk to about it.(plus i have a 2000GT) Some of the parts that i can remember that he took out to get to the clutch were the front driver's side tire, the axel on the same side, ....some other parts in there....and ALSO parts on top...the intake also had to be taken out just to have enough room to do the job. parts are cheap...just ask for a clutch kit at auto zone or whatever. around $150. another random tid bit that might help is make sure to tighten the engine mounts really good afterwards or else it will jump around in there when you turn it on and cut it off. buy gear oil before you start as well because you will need to put some in after the new clutch is in. i will need to put the car on a real lift... you need a lot of space underneath and on top to work. and most likely two people. well hope some of this helped.

Thank you for responding to my email regarding my car problem. Your suggestion to replace the timing belt/tensioner had nothing to do with it because they have been replaced recently and infact I may have found the problem and please correct me if I am wrong.
Well, I performed a compresion test on the engine and found out that two of the cylinders are only putting out 150psi compare to the other two which is 180psi. I also found out that these two cylinders are not firing even if they are getting fuel into them and receiving spark from the spark plug wires. You can troubleshoot this easily by pulling the spark plug wires one at a time and you should be able to tell a diffirence on the engine idle. If no change on the idle then that cylinder is not firing. Right now my car is parked and I'm rebuilding the enigine myself.

it might be your fuel injectors. The fuel injectors have been recalled. My 2000 gts was hesitating and i had the injectors cleaned and that fixed the problem. A month later i took it in for service and was advised that there was a recall on the fuel injectors.

Sounds like the connection from the battery to the chassis ground is bad. Try replacing the Negative battery wire and make sure where it attaches to the frame is as rust free as possible
Testimonial: "The possitive conneciton on battery was dirty. Once cleaned it fired right up. Thanks for you response."
