well, i took it all apart and found out that it was simply because i had tried playing a home made cd in it instead of only factory made. once manually ejecting all of the cd's, it worked perfectly! a year with no cd player and that was all i needed to do. now i am just having problems getting the face of the dash back on...tisk tisk. the trials of being a girly girl. thanks so much for your help tidegood44!

I have the same problem with my CD player in my Mustang. It says error and I am not able to eject any of the CD's in the unit, however the radio does work. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I have the same problems. It happens once a year or so and I usually wait it out. The longest was one month and it just magically starts working again. But this time is different -- it has a brand new CD (the new AC/DC one that I bought the same day it happend; the first time it happened was on a brand new CD as well so maybe it's something to do with that??) and the CD is in there but the CD player doesn't accept that it's in there. It let me get all my other CD's out but since it doesn't think there's a CD in slot 2 it won't let me eject slot 2. My other advice is that you'll be able to recognize the noise in the future -- get all your other CD's out immediately. So how did she get the face off and get into it? OR is this something that should be taken care of by the dealership?

I have had my 2005 Explorer for 2 1/2 years. Without warning, today the 6 CD changer suddently will not load CD's. When I press the "Load" button, it tells me to select which CD slot to load. When I press any CD location it gives the message "Load Error". How do I fix this?

Put in a new cd (not home made) and the player froze up on me. Slot that I loaded the CD into is still empty even though the player took it and now it wont play a single cd. Radio still works though.

F-150 When I mash the CD select button, it says Initalizing. It will not eject anything and cannot load anything. With the radio OFF I mash the CD button, it says NO CD.

On newer Mustangs, they have to be programmed, also look on the back of the unit and make sure all wires are secured and plugged in

I have a 2006 pontiac g6 and my radio wont let me play my cds, eject them, or load new ones. It just says CD CHANGER ERROR. I dont have a manual or any idea how to fix it.

internal electrical fualt of the c/d changer, you'll need to send the changer into be repaired. your local GM dealership can help you with that. sometimes stereo shops can do the work a little cheaper.

Toyota dashboard CD player won't eject

I had this say problem with my 2000 solara. Here is the fix, remove one of the car battery terminals for a couple of mins (3-4mins). The reattach the battery terminal back. This would make your cd player and car clock reset. once you start your car you should be able to eject the cds. You'll just need to reprogram all your preset radio station. Hope it helps
