Hello beach.... remove the sd card and check the perimeter of the card to find the locking mechanism. If the card is in the lock position, move it to unlock. Then reinsert the card, turn on the camera and go into the menu. Find format. Format the SD card and then it should be good. Joe

Trail sentry won't power up.

I struggled with the same problem. I fixed the problem by changing the sd card to a lower gb. I had a 4 gb newer card in it and got the 4 dashes and not turning off. Canged the card to a 2 gb or one gb and retry the camera power up. LMK Hope this is a fix for you! VV

I have lost my card

Hi, Commonly any digital camera will use Secure digital (SD) card and Multi Media Card (MMC). Please check the card required on your manual. There are many brand available in market now days ( such as : san disc, kingston, , etc) and all of them working good. My suggestion is just test card before you pay , to ensure your card is working. MY MEMORY CARD WILL NOT LOCK INTO PLACE WHEN I

  • Most likely the SD card is not being pushed in far enough to lock into place. You really need to use your fingernail to push it in past flush until you hear a clicking sound, at which point the card will lock into place.
  • Here are full instructions for insertion and removal of the SD card: Insert the memory card with the metal contacts going into the slot first and facing up at you. In other words the SD card label should be upside down when you insert it this way. You need to push the card in past flush to have the spring mechanism lock the card into place. To get the card out of the slot, push the card in past flush and then the spring mechanism will release it. You will hear a click when the card locks into place or is released from the slot.

You can phone them on 800-423-3537 Toll Free. for further clarification regarding this.

I don't know this camera, but I would suggest that you need to format the card. The camera ought to have a function to do this. If not, you can do it in a card reader attached to a computer. Formatting will delete everything on the card, but it will also sort out any mess, assuming the card has not actually been damaged.

    The PIR setting on my

Hello. The PIR acronym stands for passive infrared. it is the motion detector.

Every time an "event" is detected, the display will indicate "Plr", "EVNT", "rECd" in turn, and the event is recorded on the SD card as a new line in a text file, including the date and time of the event. As long as events are being detected, a new still photo or movie clip (as set in the menu) will be recorded every 30 seconds, indicated on the display by "Plr", "SnAP", then "SAVE".

The sensor that triggers the trail camera is Passive Infra Red, or PIR. Infrared energy is essentially heat energy. The PIR detector operates by sensing a change in the infrared level in its detection zone. This zone is a cone in the center 10 degrees of the camera's field of view. The camera establishes an average long-term infrared level. When this level increased suddenly the PIR detector signals the camera to record a picture and/or an event. Because of this effect, the PIR detector will be more sensitive at night, when the average temperature is lower.
You can use the red LED indicator on the front of the camera to confirm the detection zone. When PIR is sensed, this "PIR detected" indicator will light. The camera's field of view is a 45 degree cone, centered on the PIR detection zone.

the PIR is strongly sensitive to ambient temperature. The greater

the temperature difference between the environment and your subject, the

farther the possible sensing distance. The average sensing distance is about
    45 ft.

Check the "Sensor Level" (PIR sensitivity) parameter setting.

For warm environmental conditions, set the Sensor Level to "Higher number"
and for cold weather use, set the sensor for "Lower number". If the temperature is between 56 and 75 degrees farenheit start out with a setting of 3 and experiment to see if it is the best setting under all of your climatic conditions.

    Joe
    4 thumbs up please.
