The PIR setting on my

Hello. The PIR acronym stands for passive infrared. it is the motion detector.

Every time an "event" is detected, the display will indicate "Plr", "EVNT", "rECd" in turn, and the event is recorded on the SD card as a new line in a text file, including the date and time of the event. As long as events are being detected, a new still photo or movie clip (as set in the menu) will be recorded every 30 seconds, indicated on the display by "Plr", "SnAP", then "SAVE".

The sensor that triggers the trail camera is Passive Infra Red, or PIR. Infrared energy is essentially heat energy. The PIR detector operates by sensing a change in the infrared level in its detection zone. This zone is a cone in the center 10 degrees of the camera's field of view. The camera establishes an average long-term infrared level. When this level increased suddenly the PIR detector signals the camera to record a picture and/or an event. Because of this effect, the PIR detector will be more sensitive at night, when the average temperature is lower.
You can use the red LED indicator on the front of the camera to confirm the detection zone. When PIR is sensed, this "PIR detected" indicator will light. The camera's field of view is a 45 degree cone, centered on the PIR detection zone.

the PIR is strongly sensitive to ambient temperature. The greater

the temperature difference between the environment and your subject, the

farther the possible sensing distance. The average sensing distance is about
45 ft.

Check the "Sensor Level" (PIR sensitivity) parameter setting.

For warm environmental conditions, set the Sensor Level to "Higher number"
and for cold weather use, set the sensor for "Lower number". If the temperature is between 56 and 75 degrees farenheit start out with a setting of 3 and experiment to see if it is the best setting under all of your climatic conditions.

4 thumbs up please.

Need information and Instruction Manual for a Vintage Bushnell 300mm camera lens

This is not a zoom lens, it is a fixed focal length of 300mm telephoto, so the focus ring will not slide back and forth, merely rotate. It is also manual focus. If you google it, you may find a manual, but doubtful - best bet is to get a book on basic photography and read up on telephoto lenses there.Update - allegedly made by Tokina, so should be a reasonable lens.
