You need to send the model number kenmore doesn't make anything, the only way to tell who made it is by the model number but anyway if it stalls on you and you go to restart it does it make like a buzz sound if so you have a bad motor, when the motor cools off it starts again,it's not a t-stat or anything because when they fail they won't work again non resettable, most likely will be the motor

SOURCE: kenmore gas dryer not heating

GAS DRYER, NO HEAT. CHECK THE HEAT SETTING FIRST.
IS IT ON AIR FLUFF? I'M NOT BEING SMART, BUT YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED HOW MANY CALLS I TAKE THAT ARE ON AIR FLUFF. SECOND, LISTEN FOR A DISTINCT CLICK WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DRYER. IF YOU HEAR IT, LOOK IN THE INSPECTION HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE DRYER, OR REMOVE THE TOE PLATE TO VIEW THE IGNITOR. IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS AND THEN CLICKS OFF BUT NO FLAME, YOU HAVE A BAD SOLENOID ON THE GAS VALVE. IF THE IGNITOR GLOWS, BUT NEVER CLICKS OFF, THE RADIANT SENSOR ATTACHED TO THE SIDE OF THE BURNER ASSEMBLY IS BAD.

IF YOU DON'T HEAR A DISTINCT CLICK WHEN YOU TURN ON THE DRYER, THE MOST LIKELY CAUSE IS THE THERMAL FUSE LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE DRYER DOWN NEAR THE EXHAUST DUCT. IT IS A SMALL WHITE ITEM ATTACHED TO THE EXHAUST DUCT WITH TWO WIRES ATTACHED.

I have a kenmore dryer 80 series it only makes a lite sound when I push the start button. I won't come on. The power is good.

The Kenmore 80 Series of dryers are consumer grade dryers for home use. As with most home appliances, the Kenmore 80 series dryers will occasionally not work as intended. If a problem occurs with your dryer, however, you do not necessarily need it serviced by a technician. You can attempt to troubleshoot and fix any problems with your dryer before contacting a technician.

  1. Kenmore 80 Series dryers may not run for several reasons. First, make sure that the power cord is plugged into a working power outlet. You may need to plug a different device into the outlet to check that it is receiving power. If the second device does not run on the power outlet, you may have blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker. Check your fuse box or circuit breaker box and make the change as needed.
Next, make sure that the dryer door is fully shut. The dryer will not run with the door ajar.
Finally, check that the "Start" button was fully pressed and that a cycle was chosen on the machine. If you do not choose a cycle for the dryer, it will not run.
  2. If your Kenmore 80 Series dryer does not heat up during use, check that a heat cycle has been chosen for the load. There are several different dryer cycles you can choose, some of which do not use heat. Make sure that you have chosen a heated cycle.
As above, check that you have not blown a fuse or tripped a circuit breaker. The dryer may use more than one fuse or breaker: one is used to power the drum, and the other for the heating element. Make sure that both fuses or breakers are in working order.
  3. There may be times when Kenmore Series 80 dryers do not fully dry your clothes. When this occurs, check the lint screen and clear out any lint. The air may not flow as well if the lint screen is clogged.
Next, check to see if the exhaust vent is clogged. Lint and other particles may clog the exhaust vent over time, restricting air flow and making it more difficult to dry your clothes. To check the vent, run the dryer and hold your hand under the vent. If you do not feel any air flow, clean or replace the vent.
If you used cold water to rinse the clothes it may take longer than normal to dry. The same is true if the load of laundry is very wet or is filled with items that are very absorbent.
Finally, check the load size. The more clothes in the load the longer it will take to dry. If you want to reduce drying time, separate the clothes into piles of light and heavy items and dry them separately.

Hello I have a Kenmore clothes dryer (80 series). It takes multiple cycles to dry the clothes.

Remove the connecting vent on the rear and run a timed load 45 minutes. If it dries correctly repair the vent blockage.

Dryer

dryers take a lot of power to run.the circuit is tripping because it cannot take the load of the dryer.you may have to get a dryer line installed.check the value on the circuit breaker.u need to use twice that value on the dryer.with clothes added to the dryer the motor takes more current to spin.this extra current is greater than the circuit breaker value so it trips to prevent the house wire from going on fire.
