Look for an FN key. Sometimes it just says FN in a box really small on the key. Most likely near the bottom left.

First, if there is no Euro symbol then this isn't a European keyboard, or it was made before the Euro was introduced, which I believe is the issue in this case, and there's nothing that can be done to get the Euro into the system. As far as the function key is concerned, you may need to do a bios flash or update in order to restore the function key features. Do the flash/update and get back to me.

Some say this is a issue with the BIOS ..and reinstalling it (update ) will fix the problem ..but in their case it always work on restart ..I think it is just a matter of windows driver being affected or some odd function on ...To see if this is the issue..get into BIOS settings (f2 on start ) and in there choose factory optimal defaults..and save changes with F10 ...
while you are in there ..check the functions for the keys..I mean if enter ..and the arrows works ...this means that it is a windows fault ..
after resetting to factory defaults..and saving the changes..restart it and see if ti is working ..If its not ..click right on my computer ..properties /hardware /device manager and in there look at the keyboard area and if it is in yellow with an ask sign ..it has no driver ..and you need to reinstall it ..or reinstall the operation system from scratch ..or use recovery partition or disk to do that ..
You can also try to click right on keyboard in device manager and update driver ..this will run installer wizard but Im not sure if the driver it is present in windows anymore ..otherwise should picked it up on start ..
If you have the driver on the cd that came with the laptop ..insert the CD and just install the driver ..or get on the manufacturer's site and download it from there to avoid the re-installation of the OS

this is a utility driver for keyboard's functions..for Vista ..(works on w 7 too ) but the best way is to reinstall or use recovery ..
Theres no function key lock, just the blue Fn button on the lower left corner of the keyboard.
If you cant get any of the function keys to work and the keyboard just thinks that you are pressing the standard button without pressing Fn, then this could be a fault with the contacts in the Fn key.
You might want to try

To help you troubleshoot your keyboard. I think you need to get a diagnostic utility running to be sure the key is faulty.
