Why didn't you buy the overload and relay?i would get that 3 in 1 out of there, order the correct parts, most likely if the condenser fan motor failed the compressor was running to hot and cooked the overload and relay but this has a mother board in it that runs almost everything on this machine, you can't remove the cap or other parts so if i were you i would order the correct parts, put that cap back in and order a new condenser fan motor,if this machine is like 8 to 10 years and you never updated the mother board this also could be your problem, look at the mother board if it doesn't have all 7 of the relays in it it's not the newest board, also have you noticed the evap fan in the freezer maybe revving up or changing speeds that's another way to tell if you have a bad board if you noticed the fans speeding up or slowing down, here's a video hope this helps but get that 3in1 out of there and order the correct parts

I replaced all the factory components with a supco 4 in 1. This fridge has a run relay and you must use the the supco part that has a the run cap included or use the Supco part wired to use your original. I did use my original overload too. I should detect compreesor heat much better. Doesn`t hurt a thing to use two overload devices. Some techs do not recommend start kits like Supco but my fridge runs just fine. It could save a unit that you would have to replace. I would not use one on a newer fridge that is still in warranty.

SOURCE: Slow compressor fan

You need to remove the fan and test it somewhere different. The compressor is in need of the condenser fan. Everything will overheat without that fan working. You should also test the power at that pin plug. Let me know what you find. Sea Breeze

Poured a beer and noticed temperature reading of 56F. Compressor not running. Notice a periodic clicking sound.

The clicking sound is the compressor overload tripping out and resetting. For whatever reason, bad capacitor, bad relay or locked up compressor....the compressor is not starting. Of course it could also be overheated due to a defective condensor fan motor or extremely blocked condensor coil.

I have a Ruud condenser on which I just replaced the capacitor and contactor. When I power up, the fan motor spins very slowly and a buzzing occurs about every 15 seconds. The buzzing sounds like it's...

Hello Zing77,

I understand that you are having a problem with your Rudd condensor. The fan is turning slowly and the compressor is making a buzzing noise which has a Diversitech hard start conected to the capcitor.

You have already replaced the run capcitory on the unit and have attached the compressor wire to therm and c and the fan to therm and fan. The hard start kit shoudl be attached to the therm and c with your compressor wires attached to the same place. The hard start kit is to give the compressor the extra push (electrical charge) to start.

You need to check your connections and make sure that you purchased the proper run capcitor. If you have purchased the proper compacitor and the connections are right then you have a bad fan and the compressor as gone out on the unit.

Fan motor on condensor not starting. I have located the capacitor but unable to recognise any writing. it is a12000btu split unit.

There are two type capacitor. One for running capacitor for compressor and one for condenser fan motor by each separate capacitor. Some times two in one capacitor being used. Just check in your condenser unit, in your 2 in one capacitor, there are three parts and one has four pins and other two has each two pins where you can clip the wire.Remove existing wires and replace same with new capacitor.

Now, in this capacitor near each each part mention as "C" "H" " F". Cmeans compressor common and H means for compressor starting and F means fan starting. Be careful don't interchange any wire.
And also while replace capacitor don't add or reduce the mfd. Ex.. your existing capacitoris 35+3 mfd means 35mfd for compressor function and 3 mfd for fan motor function. Hope helpful.

I have an older Goodman CKB 18-1

FOR QUESTION 1: They do run independantly. What will happen when your compressor is running but your outdoor fan does not, the pressures in the system will go really high and compressor will overload. That outdoor fan is used to disipate all the heat that is transferred from the inside to the outdoor unit.
FOR QUESTION 2: If you hear humming it can be 2 things. FIrst one is that that capacitor went bad. Dependiing if its a dual run capacitor(which helps both compressor and fan motor) or they both have individual capacitors. The second would be a bad fan motor. OPen your service panel outside to the AC. Find your capacitor for you fan motor. if there are 2 , locate the one that goes to your fan motor. Check it out(if its blown physically youll will notice it like really bubbled, like swollen) then change itout. Or you will have a dual run capacitor that runs both compressor and fan motor. It will have the terminals marked (Fan, Common, Herm) Bsically check your capacitor mfd(micro fared rating, it will say on the capacitor what its rated) Get a multi meter and put in the "MFD' selection. Before you check any capacitor you have to discharge the the voltage charge it has. Use an insulated handle screwdriver and just place the metel part across the capacitor leads. Basicall short them out. Then proceed with checks...hope this helps( remember to always pull the disconnect out from the box outside to cut power)

Condensor fan runs after compressor shuts off

If new motor is 4 wire verses 3 wire use seperate capacitor between brown wires and don't use terminal on 3 pole cap. If this motor has a white strip on one brown wire you can wire it the old way using only 1 brown wire and tape off the other. Can't remeber this morning which brow wire to use . I need to leave. Goole replacemotor with 2 brown wires for more info or call where you bought it. Sorry got to run.
