Toshiba Factory Reset
This link shows you how to use the partition http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/bulletinDetail.jsp?soid=2291088&pf=true basically as the PC boots TAP F8 key - from the menu that appears choose "repair your computer"
If that option is NOT available then you will need to Order CDs from Toshiba - http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/System-Recovery-and-Recovery/Recovery-media/m-p/9148#U9148

I need Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 (PSLY5U00Q01T) PC Notebook factory restore instruction

Hello there,
Newer Toshiba laptops usually have the ability to create recovery discs that will let you recover to "factory settings." Try this:

1. Click Start

2. Select All Programs

3. Select Recovery Disc Creator.

Recovery Disk Creator

4. Within the Recovery Disc Creator select Create

5. When prompted enter the first blank DVD and select Ok

6. When prompted enter the second blank DVD and select Ok

I hope this helps. Thumbs up if you think so.

I bought a Toshiba laptop satelite T135-etc I'm trying to make recovery CD, but when I open the recovery media Creator; appear a message which tells no hdd recovery area! \the toshiba recovery disc...

The recovery partition has been deleted somehow. You cannot create a recovery cd on that machine.
Sorry.
P.S. That partition isn't hidden...many think it is.
Again...sorry. Hate to be the bearer of bad news.
Good luck
P.S. You might consider using a program like Clonezilla to make a copy of your drive. Or do a fresh install.

NO HDD RECOVERY AREA !

first boot pc, then right before windows would start, press either F2 or F8,, I think it's F2, this will bring you to bios settings, look for bootup device options, Set cd-rom as first bootup device, then Hard drive as second device, Then save settings, insert recover cd, then restart pc, it will immediately boot up your recover cd or windows disc

How do i restore my toshiba laptop with the recovery cd, where can i get the recovery cd

Recovery CD is saved as a recovery partition on the system, which needs to be written/burn onto the CD/DVD.
Steps to create a recovery disc (Insert a blank DVD in the CD/DVD rom) -
1. Click Start
2. Select All Programs
3. Select Recovery Disc Creator.
Recovery Disk Creator
4. Within the Recovery Disc Creator select Create

If you dont have the above options, you need to call the tech support and ask for the recovery disc & it will be shipped to you.

I can not make my recovery disc.

Hi there.
I'm sorry to tell you that when you reformatted the drive you deleted the recovery partition and all the recovery information on it, this is why the recovery disk creator cannot be launched and is giving you an error.
Thankfully for you, you created a recovery disk before you wiped the drive so this is your only way of restoring the system so make a back-up copy of the recovery disk you made and keep it safe as the problem cannot be solved because you deleted the recovery partition.

Thanks for using FixYa!!

Sound drivers for Xp sp2

For specific models with different chipset drivers, you can get the sound driver & pretty much everything else on support.toshiba.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, "Tecra, Portege", & sometimes "Qosmio" models came with a built-in HDD recovery, meaning you need to create your recovery disk by running the "Recovery Disk Creator". An application to create your recovery disk. A shortcut is created on the desktop by default, if you cannot find it there, try looking at "C:\Program Files\Toshiba\Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator" & run the "exe" file, it should give you a menu to create one. After creating the disk, you can use that disc to install the drivers for all Toshiba pre-installed devices/softwares on that machine. For Satellite models, the disc should come with the laptop when you boughtt it. When you have the disc, just insert it inside of windows, it will give you options to install the driver & software for a specific toshiba device.

Hope this helps.
