Hi I am running Skype 5.1.0.968 on my Intel Mac. I just started yesterday so I'm a newbie. I did set up the camera and in the preferences "Audio/Video" section I saw my face in the little window. The green light was on and I did have a video call with a family member. I tried video calling someone else later and although I could see her, she couldn't see me and the little video button on Skype was red not green. I unplugged the camera and plugged it in again from the USB and it didn't help. The sound is excellent on the mike but now I have no video even though I have restarted the computer. I tried loading in drivers from the web site but that didn't help. I am on OS 10.5.8. I would appreciate your help. Thanks, Peter

First check that your isight camera is working by going to applications and selecting the application photo booth. If your isight is working you will see yourself in the photobooth window. Now if it is working open skype, first check that you have the latest version of skype by going to the skype menu and then check for updates. Once you have the latest version go to the skype menu again then preferences then under the video make sure that the enable Skype video checkbox is checked and you can check the start my video automatically checkbox as well. Then close the preferences window. Hope this helps.

A. Skype Setup:

Then click on the Video Settings.
The camera, if Installed Properly, it will come up and show a video picture.
Then, on the bottom of the page click save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and hear you.

B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.HTML )
set it up as follows:
Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on "Open the call setup assistant" and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on " "Show Menus." And then click on "Show the Menu Bar".
Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on " "Action."
Go to "TOOLS" and click "Audio and Video Setting" and follow the instructions.
NOTE: Your audio and video should work. Enjoy.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.

D. AIM (AOL) Messenger:

On the VIM sign-in window, click on Edit.
Then click on Settings Enhanced IM.
Next click on Enhanced IM.
Then click on Audio Video.
The Audio and Video portion has drop downs so you can select the proper audio card and video camera installed in you computer.
The Audi Video drop downs are
Microphone
Speaker
Camera
The audio and camera should function now.

2. The Audio and Video Tuning Wizard will appear to help you verify that your camera, speakers and microphone are working

To set up your webcam, please follow these steps:

Download and install the most recent drivers for your video device. If your video camera does not have drivers for Mac OS X, please use the drivers.

Select your video device in Skype under Skype Preferences- Video. This step is not required if you have an Apple iSight.
Make sure the option Enable Skype video is ticked. You can also set video privacy settings to desired options in the same window.

The minimum system requirements for Skype 2.0 for Mac are a Mac OS X v10.3.9 Panther or newer, G4 800 MHz and above, any G5 or Intel processor, 512MB RAM, 40 MB free disk space on your hard drive and a microphone.

Suggested webcams include Apple iSight, Philips SPC900NC, or Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000.

Video and call quality may vary greatly in environments with conditions below these recommendations. Please be sure, that your webcam is connected and not in use with another program.

If you experience any issues with your webcam, please contact the manufacturer directly.

go to preferences, then to video and u will find a checkbox asking if u want ur cam to be in build with skype

have you gone into system preferences/sound.input/output settings?
try making a free test call, and you can play around with all your settings that way...also helps to keep the volume turned down on your mac, and just adjust it using your headset.

I had this problem, too - but I'm not sure how I fixed it:-) Try these: 1. Check Skype options: Skype :: Preferences :: Video  Did you activate Skype video? Can you select the iSight camera? After yes for the above: Do you see yourself concentrating?
If not:- Try restting the pram http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379. - check for skype updates - I remember some stuff regarding iSight problems, try searching for the following terms: macbook isight skype
