Recently was given an old craftsman band saw . cannot find a model or serial number. am trying to determine if it is worth fixing up and where I might get parts, operating instruction ( ie alignment of wheels, thrust bearings, blade guides, etc). any help would be appreciated

If you still have it, you might have luck looking through the publication reprints for craftsman saws listed at this site.When you get to the craftsman's mfr's page, click on the Pub type heading and the list will sort according to the type of machine. If you can't find your saw, you may be able to find one of similar vintage whose instructions will be close enough to help you on your way.
