What shape are the upper and lower guides in? Also, is the table at 90 degrees? Even a small error can make cutting less reliable if the table is not right on spec. It happens with my drill press sometimes, making the bit try to wander.

I have Sears- Craftsman 10" band saw #113.244510.

Check this blog first. Are you installing a new blade? If the blade is running backwards, you just have to reverse it, turn inside out. Try watching the Alex Snodgrass' Youtube video Band Saw Tune Up .

Hi Judy,
I am not a expert on this exact saw but I may be able to help. The good thing is that there is a ton of info. and help with older saws.
You have a 12" saw, this means that the wheels are 12" in diameter. the tires they sent you may have been the right ones ( they are smaller than the wheel and can be a real pain to put on ) the reason for them being smaller is so when the tires are on the wheels they don't slip.

Heres some places you can check.

- carter products ( www.carterproducts .com)
- bandsawtires.org

Look at these 2 sites to get you started, I would also look at "how to install a bandsaw tire" (just type that in ) this will give you a video on how to install a tire. Its alot easier to see it than having someone try and tell you.

You will need to know your width of tire i.e. 3/4"or1"

The saw you have is a Craftsman Model 103, 12" saw (they will ask you this also.

I really hope this helps in some way, The saw you have is a GREAT, I have a Model 113 and use it all the time.

If you have time to leave a comment I would be thankful.

I have a 12" Sears - Craftsman - Band Saw and the

Two potential issues here:

a.) You probably need to align your bandsaw wheels. Here's a link to a craftsman 12" bandsaw manual. Assuming you have model 113243310, 113243311, 113243300, or a similar model, read over page 12-14 "Installing the blade". Specifically, look at section 10 about adjusting the tracking.

Having the blade guides set properly is important too. A thrust bearing (the one up top, behind the blade) that's set too far forward can push the blade off the wheels too.

b.) If it's flat out too loose and you can't get it tight, the blade might be too long. It's worth double checking your manual to confirm you are supposed to be using an 80" blade and double checking the blade package to make sure you actually have an 80" blade.

How to install drive belts on a craftsman table saw model # 218290?

Remove the side panel (key number 21) the dust cover (key number 23) guide holder (key number 29).

Use a 19MM or a 3/4 inch deep socket with a long extension and ratchet. This will keep your hand out of the way.
Now rotate the arbor counter clockwise and deflect the top edge of the belt downwards onto the arbor to catch the grooves.
Continue to work the belt around and checking at the motor shaft.
Once the belt is in place work it down by deflecting the top edge of the belt.

How to remove the bearing #30571 on a Craftsman Radial Arm saw model 113.29003

Removing bearing #30571 on a Craftsman Radial Arm saw model 113.29003 can be a bit challenging, but it can be done with the right tools and techniques. Here are the steps you can take to remove the bearing:
  1. Unplug the saw from the power source.
  2. Use a wrench or pliers to loosen and remove the bolt or nut that holds the bearing in place.
  3. Carefully remove the bearing from the saw. If it is difficult to remove, you may need to use a bearing puller.
  4. Clean the bearing and the area around it with a clean rag or brush.
  5. Inspect the bearing for any damage or wear. If it is damaged or worn, it will need to be replaced.
  6. Once the bearing is removed, cleaned, and inspected, install the new bearing if needed, and reattach the bolt or nut to hold it in place.
  7. Before turning the saw back on, make sure to test the saw operation before using it.
It is important to mention that this is a general guide, the exact steps and tools may vary depending on the particular model, so you may want to consult your saw's manual or the manufacturer for more specific instructions. Also, be aware that working with any power tools can be dangerous, always use the appropriate safety gear and take caution.
