Cant get motorola wr850g to see time warner cable modem

My computer sees the motorola and it says i'm connected to it but modem connection to modem flashes red, when i click on internet no connection.

ok, one computer (laptop) is hooked up to the Time Warner Cable Modem, which is a Aris, model# TM402P/110, via usb, which is coming out of the cable modem to the lap top. I tried hooking a Motorola wireless Hub, model #WR850G to it.via a RJ45 cable from the Modem to the wireless, so that my other computer can use the system to connect to the web. My other computer can see the wireless, by either a rj45 cable or wireless attachment, and it says its connected, but i still can't access the web. With all this going on, the Motorola wireless Hub is flashing red on the wireless modem indicator, showing no connection to the cable modem. No the orignal laptop is connect to the cable modem and has no problem access the web through the cable modem, i just want to be able to access the web with the other computer. HELPPPPPPPPPPPP

    and thank you

NetGear Gateway Access Problem

No to warner's locking the modem. 192.168.0.1 is the correct address for accessing the options within the modem. incidentally the Motorola wireless modem works better. Go on line to Netgear technical service and they will guide you through the task of setting up the system.

Modem light is blank on motorola wr850g, how do i fix?

If the modem light is not turning ON,
1) check if the modem is ON
2) check if the ethernet connection is properly made
3) check if the port on the modem is working, confirm it by connecting it straight to the computer.
4) check if the ethernet cable is working fine.
5) Then try power cycling the router. Unplug the power cable and connect in back after 20-30 secs.
6) Then try pressing and holding the reset for 20 secs.
7) Finally connect a single ethernet cable from any LAN port to WAN port and check if the modem light is ON.
Ultimately, if even after this step, if the light doesn't turn up, either the modem LED would have gone bad or the WAN part of the router would have gone bad.

Cannot connect to motorola wr850g router

If you connect the computer directly to the modem, does it work?
If that works then the modem is working.
Now connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
You will need to open the set up page of the router to check the settings of the router.
You can set up the router without the CD also.
It is very easy.

Wr850g cant connect to xbox live

I posted a solution under a different problem, but similar. Basically you will need to pick a static IP for your xbox. Then set that IP address in the router web config >> routing >> DMZ IP address setting. Restart both router and xbox and bingo. Your xbox is now directly connected to your cable modem without the router problems preventing connectivity.

Motorola wr850g

1) Are you sure you're connecting to YOUR wireless network? From my own house, I can access 5 different wi-fi networks, 3 of them unsecured. I've even logged into two of them, unintentionally.

2) Check all of your cabling connections that they are tight and
secured. This includes the cables from the wall to your modem,
between the router and modem, and from the router
to your PC. Ensure that your LEDs are not lit Red or not at all.

3) Ensure that you are using Ethernet cables and not telephone
cables between the router and PC. Ethernet
cables use a wider RJ-45 style plug using 8 wires where
telephone style plugs use the smaller RJ-11 style plug using 4 to
6 wires.

4) Ensure that your Ethernet adapter is enabled. Check the System
Tray at the bottom right of your display to see an icon that looks
like a monitor. You can click on this to see the status of
your Ethernet adapter. Also in Control Panel > Network and
Dial-Up Connections, you can examine the state of your Ethernet
adapter.

5) Firewalls. Your desktop firewall(s) may be blocking your internet access. Check them.

6) You may not be completely blocked (only web traffic - port 80 - blocked). Go to Start > Run and type CMD. At the DOS prompt, type ping 192.168.1.1 (should be the default IP address of your router). If you get a response, your PC is talking to the router. If you get "timed out", then they are not talking, for some reason. If successful, try pinging an external address, something like ping www.fixya.com, and see what happens.

Network switch

Sounds like you know what you're doing... but.. based on what you've typed..

You need to make certain the comcast cable modem is plugged into the seperate port on the back of the router called WAN and not next to the other LAN connectors.

The network is seperate from the internet. The router acts as a firewall and shares the WAN with the LAN internally and automatically.

I assum that you have one red light on WAN.. and three green lights for LAN..

Cant connect to the internet

red light means moden is out of sync with the isp. Power cycle. by unpluging the power from the back of yoru modem, unplug Your router and also turn off your computer. Turn on your modem frist wait until all lights are green>If they dont turn green. CHeck your cables. make sure telephone line is plugged into it or cable line. . There should be a cable pluged in from your modem to your wan port. Then from your router to your computer. Is this a wired or wireless connection. If its a wireless connection i need to know what what os your using. so i can help you set it up.
